Around SBN: Clippers Need To Realize That Spurs Are The Anti-Grizzlies

OPEN THREAD: Game #21- Warriors @ Sonics

warriors@sonics.jpeg

Warriors (W-L): 10-10

Sonics (W-L): 9-11

Time: 6PM PST

TV: FSN Bay Area

Radio: KNBR 680

Mr. 1200 and the fellas take their Yay Area game up to Seattle tonight. No JRich, no Ike, no Zarko, but no Ray-Ray. No excuses. The Warriors have to make Nellie Mr. 1200 + 1 tonight.

Also, here's a little bit of a reality check for Warriors Nation and the Warriors (mis)management: record-wise the SuperSonics are only 1 game behind the Dubs. These two squads are widely thought to be headed in different directions too- the Warriors towards playoff contention and the Sonics towards rebuild mode. Scary, isn't it? You know me- I'm thinking trade, trade, and more trade.

Vegas Odds: Seattle by 3.5

Predictions:

  • Warriors by 5
  • Boom Dizzle gets for 20-10 after nearly getting a triple double last night
  • Rashard Lewis drops 25+

Make sure to give us your predictions in the comments before tip off and post any comments you have during the game right here.

THROW UP A W!!

UPDATE: Live Box Score from Yahoo!

UPDATE 2: Warriors lose 115-117

Stay tuned for the recap...

Heres my predictions.
Warriors by 21. I think that they will play this game just like they played last night, and pull away in the 4th.

Boom Dizz gets his trip-dub tonight. Biedrins with 15 and 15. He will be unstoppable in the paint tonight.

If you take a look out of your windows, you can now see Dallas, TX. Quite the site, no?

by coma @ Golden State Of Mind on Dec 10, 2006 5:42 PM PST reply actions

yeah, I agree with coma about AB
Seattle's interior will not be able to check Andrins. Pietrus should be able to contain Rashard Lewis and Monta should have his way with the Hobbit other than that I dont even know who else Seattle has that is worth mentioning.

Yessir
He even got the nod for a nice pass by Fitz.

Big Nate's BBQ kept calling Rashard Lewis, Rasheed Lewis for a while there.

38 point quarter, nearly everything to the rim, and they're making all their 3's!

Great quarter.

End of 1st- Warriors Up 38-25
Warriors looking real good.
  • Great outlet passing
  • Sweet shooting
  • Pretty good D
  • Nice rebounding

by Atma Brother ONE on Dec 10, 2006 6:37 PM PST reply actions

looks like the shooting is back
this is the best first quarter they have played in a while. Lots of scoring, great defense, nice to have the team back.

All Star 3 Point Shootout...
With a few players on the team stroking the 3's at a high percentage, do you think any of them will be invited to be in the shootout? If so, who would it be?

by ON THE RUN on Dec 10, 2006 6:56 PM PST reply actions

Damn
High scoring game ... absolutely no defense. I'm loving it!

by YaoButtaMing on Dec 10, 2006 7:05 PM PST reply actions

At the Half Warriors 72, Sonics 56
Sweeter than Hershey's shooting tonight by the Warriors so far:
  • 8 for 11 on treys (72.7%)
  • 14 for 15 from the charity stripe (93.3%)
You gotta luv that BD to TMurph layup with the 2nd quarter expiring too.

by Atma Brother ONE on Dec 10, 2006 7:16 PM PST reply actions

And as we watch our lead get clown away like a
SuperSonic Boom, one must ask....

Where is Foyal?

by Zorgon on Dec 10, 2006 7:35 PM PST reply actions

Indeed.
Its not Biedrins' night.

Murph is on a roll, put Murphy in!

by back2back51s on Dec 10, 2006 7:37 PM PST up reply actions

Yes
Murph has really improved with the Mask. I'd still rather see him without it though.

That was a fun quarter, if you're a Sonics fan that is.

For the quarter:
Sonics- 31
Warriors- 16

Ouch!

Whyyyyy
Does Mike D. always shoot so fast?  Why doesn't he run inside or pass?  Shoot-first is not his game... otherwise 'clank'  is his game

by gsdubz on Dec 10, 2006 7:58 PM PST reply actions

Hmm
98-91

Sonics announcer said "The Warriors look TIRED"

Looks like we needs some fresh legs off the bench in the clutch....

WE WANT FOYAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Zorgon on Dec 10, 2006 8:02 PM PST reply actions

ugh
this game is giving me a headache. They play a perfect first half, and then resort back to the old ways. Even if they pull this one out, they should be embarassed

and a awesome shot and FT by Blastin' Barnes!

by Zorgon on Dec 10, 2006 8:25 PM PST up reply actions

a tale of two halves
in one game the warriors showed how good they can be and how bad they can be. what the hell were they doing in the second half? horrible shot selection, with zero ball movement. atma hit on it in the preview. the sonics are not a team that one thinks of when they think of playoff contender...and the warriors now have the same record as them.

by AJC3317 on Dec 10, 2006 8:26 PM PST reply actions

BECAUSE WE PUT IN THESE PLAYERS WHO ARE INEXPERIENCED AS HELL AT THE END OF GAMES!!!!!

I'm done yelling now.

More tea, vicar?

by Zorgon on Dec 10, 2006 8:32 PM PST reply actions

Heartbreaker
What a disappointing loss. It was a complete reversal from last night's game.

by Caught Backcourt on Dec 10, 2006 8:35 PM PST reply actions

again
somehow we find a way to blow a lead.
but does anyone else notice that if the warriors were the sonics and down 16 at the half, we wouldnt be able to pull a comeback off like that. ive been followin the warriors closer this year, and they seem like they cant make or should i say complete comebacks
