Game #22: Warriors vs. Kings

Warriors (W-L): 10-11
Kings (W-L): 9-10
Time: 7:30PM PST
TV: FSN Bay Area
Radio: KNBR 680

Beep...beep...beep...We interrupt your Allen Iverson rumor watching with an important announcement.

Tonight, the Sacramento Kings visit the Warriors at "The O", looking for a little payback for the last time they visited. The Warriors had control for the entire game last time, culminating in a 12 point win, 117-105. This time around, Brad Miller is back. He's not to the point where he's 100% back, but he's still capable of doing major damage.

For the Warriors, how are the players going to respond after all of the trade rumors. Nearly everybody and their mama was mentioned in a trade rumor the last 2 days. If these guys are professionals, the rumors won't faze them. But it's often hard to play your best when you're not sure if you're going to be on the team in a couple days. Baron, Monta, and Foyle (haha) need to keep up the intensity tonight. If they don't, we're looking at another L. I suspect that they'll play hard and I predict a W.

Sactown Royalty also has their open thread for tonight's game.

Vegas Odds: Warriors by 3

Predictions:

  • Warriors win by AI's jersey #
  • Baron messes around and finally gets the triple-double that's eluded him the past two games
  • The trade goes down after the game when all of the players have played.

Make sure to give us your predictions in the comments before tip off and post any comments you have during the game right here.

THROW UP A W!!

Thank you for your patience. You can now resume your regular Allen Iverson rumor watching...beep...beep...beep...

UPDATE:

WARRIORS WIN BIG!! 126-113
Final Box Score

Stay tuned... Hash got a PHAT Recap coming!

My prediction...
The trade goes down a few minutes before game time and you see a depleted warriors bench consisting of 7 to 8 active players for tonights game.

if this is true ...
...well, it seems like too much to give up.

I can't really see Nelson signing off on this type of deal. Nelly's usually the one getting this type of boon-doggle!

Either way
This game is gonna suck. The Maloof's announced the Kings are out of the Iverson race, so the Kings will be cool.  The Warriors?  almost every player on the team has been "dangled" (I love that word) in a trade rumor as trade bait!  How are they gonna feel?  It's obviously going to bring you jitters, when you and your whole family are subject to move at any second all the way across America if a trade goes down.

If the Warriors pull this one off, I'll be very proud of them.

Question, is there a rule to announcing trades during games?  What if you're traded during the first half and you find out at halftime, what do you do?  I'd probably come out and just talk a lot of sh** to the refs, but that's just me ha ha ha ha.

off to the shower
remember when the A's traded Canseco? pulled right out of the batters box.

Lets blow out the Kings tonight!!!

Baron
throws up an uncontested brick and gets rebound #10 to finally get that triple double, but they'll already be leading by 16 with "3" seconds left on the clock.

by ZombieWarrior on Dec 12, 2006 9:52 PM PST reply actions

Alright guys,
looks like we've sealed ourselves up 4th place for the time being. LET US NOT STOP THERE!!!! PRESS ON!!!!

by Zorgon on Dec 12, 2006 10:02 PM PST reply actions

Wow.
Only caught the 4th quarter myself sadly, missing how they picked up such a big lead.

Andris must have gotten a million fantasy league points tonight with his perfect from the field and FT line double double.

Barnes with 32 and no FT's on the night? Crazy.

Foyle got some minutes.

Dunleavy goes hard to the rim after on the TV broadcast you could hear some nosebleed section fan scream for him to "Take it hard to the rim if you want a call!" after he motioned for a foul on his elbow during his previous shot.

We beat the Kings, AGAIN!

Thursday's Houston game on FSN+ sounds like the only bad news tonight!

by back2back51s on Dec 12, 2006 10:09 PM PST reply actions

well Tmac will likely be out
but as long as they have someone to pass it on the block to Yao they still have a good chance. we need to try to run it and use up all of POB & foyles fouls

by azw on Dec 12, 2006 10:15 PM PST up reply actions

I meant its on FSN+
So a bunch of us don't get to even see the game sadly.

T-Mac's back is always acting up, Yao is automatic though, and we did have a terrible showing in Houston, but we're high off this win and should put it together on Thursday!

by back2back51s on Dec 12, 2006 11:11 PM PST up reply actions

phew
Kings were just cold tonight. if they shoot it decently from deep, i think this could have been a much dicier game. The warriors defensive rotation on that zone is epically slow. We were lucky bibby/artest were stone cold. Still too many three's. even though they made them tonight, more often than not, something like this is not going to happen. We need the BEAST!!

whoaz
FUTURE LINEUP:

Baron
JRICH
Barnes
Pietrus
Biedrins

by chimp on Dec 12, 2006 10:19 PM PST reply actions

possibly
although i think that both barnes and pietrus should be used as sparks off the bench. and i'm not sure exactly what pietrus has done to earn a starting spot. i kept an eye on him tonight and every single time down the court all he did was float to the corner. sure he was able to knock down a few shots but if they don't fall he doesn't give us anything at all.

by AJC3317 on Dec 12, 2006 10:31 PM PST up reply actions

I see Biedrins had two techs..
did he get ejected?
Giving a shout out to Mr. Mean, Purvis Short, J.B. Carrol, Bernard and of course, Mr. Bill King

by World Sleepy King on Dec 12, 2006 10:37 PM PST reply actions

pietrus
ummm... Pietrus has been playing well, shooting 49% from the field and getting over a block per game. Part of having good spacing on offense is having guys standing around the arc; Pietrus' role is to stand in the corner. When Pietrus isn't in someone is always in the corner. He's one of the few people on our team that can play individual defense. And Dunleavy has been playing very well coming off of the bench. I think that's why Pietrus is starting.
