OPEN THREAD: Game #29 - Warriors @ Heat

1223warriorsheat.jpg

Warriors (W-L): 14-14

Heat (W-L): 11-14

Time: 4:30PM PST

TV: FSN Bay Area

Radio: KNBR 680

Coming off an impressive win in Orlando, the Warriors travel down to South Beach to square off against the NBA Champion Miami Heat this late afternoon. The records will shock you. Can you believe the Warriors are at .500 through 28 games and the Heat are 3 games below .500? If the regular season ended today the Warriors would be the 8th seed in the Western Conference playoffs, while the Heat would be sitting at home with the 9th spot. Something tells me that Coach Riley, Shaq, and Gary Payton aren't too worried about the early regular season though. This an ideal opportunity for the Dubs to catch the Heat napping in the first half of the regular season minus the big fella and extend their winning streak on the road to 3.

Injuries: Mickael Pietrus (broken nose), Andris Biedrins (he fell on his back hard last night and it wasn't pretty), Jason Richardson (probably sitting this one out), Troy Murphy (still in LA), Zarko Cabarkapa (um, I don't think so). The Warriors are going to need big nights from Matt Barnes, Mike Dunleavy, and Adonal Foyle if they're going to win this one.

Vegas Odds: Heat by 6

Predictions:

  • Warriors by 1
  • Adonal Foyle outplays Zo.
  • Dwyane Wade goes nuts with 30+ points and 10 dimes.
  • Yay Area product Gary Payton goes retro with a big night.

Make sure to give us your predictions in the comments before tip off and post any comments you have during the game right here.

THROW UP A W!!

UPDATE: Live Box Score from Yahoo!

UPDATE 2: Warriors lose 92-105

Stay tuned for the recap...

I like our chances
I'll take the Warriors by 5+.

Right now, the heat don't strike me as any better than us inside and think our guards can score with Wade. We have momentum as a team right now too.

GO DUBS

Warriors 120-Heat 80
That's right, a 40 point win. An yes, I predict an Adonal Foyle career night of 30 points, 16 rebounds, 17 blocks, 13 steals, and 11 assists (a...qinfivet double?) just to spite me not watching because I have to go to the Hornets-Spurs game tonight.

I'LL STILL CHECK THE SCORE ON MY CELL PHONE!!!!!!!

(Don't tell Adonal I'm taping it ;)

JRich
I think Nellie sat him last night in the begining of the 2nd half to save him for tonight. You can quote me on it. "JRich will be in the starting line up,with Money Ellis coming off the bench". Look for another big night from Dun,his confidence is high right now. BD goes for 30+ and 8+ assists. The W's get another W tonight, team confidence is high,we just beat the the hottest team in the east!!!

we aren't to tired from last night's game to compete. we saw what happened in phoenix on the back end of a back to back. hopefully they can sustain some energy.
