OPEN THREAD: GAME #30 - 76ers @ WARRIORS

Warriors (W-L): 14-15
76ers (W-L): 7-19
Time: 7:30PM PST
TV: FSN Bay Area
Radio: KNBR 680
The Warriors less than stunt-tastic road trip (2-4 overall) ended in a drubbing by the Miami Heat. Maybe it was a result of the Warriors injuries piling up (Pietrus victimized by D-Ho's bows, Monta victimized by Posey's linebacker tendencies, Roberson victimized by himself, and Biedrins probably the only one in the league victimized by Darko...), but two unsuspecting 2nd rounders posted career nights against the Ws. Coincidence? Nah, just Warriors' patent defense.
With half the team out (Monta, Roberson, Murphy, Zarko, and possibly Pietrus) and half a J-Rich, what looks to be a walk in the park may end up being quite a dog fight. The 76ers have won two in a row and their young talent and athleticism at the wing and center spots might prove to be too much for the Ws. We can't forget about Kyle Korver either. If Kapono can go for a career night, look for Korver to kill em' from long range as Carney and Iggy tear up the interior with highlight worthy dunks.
Warriors--PLEASE GET WELL SOON!
Thank goodness we're playing at home!

Let's hope no one else tackles Monta again.

Couple of quick corrections:
Warriors by... oh man, just please win this game. And we should all hope for some good news on Monta's injury--we don't want to lose him for 8 weeks or anything.
thanks for catchin' it..

Mutumbo = Warrior
P.S. When he sent the check, word is that Latrell Sprewell got checked into a hospital for excessive hyperventilation. How could Mutumbo feed his family anymore?
Correction on Vegas Odds
Obviously, they may not have factored in the extent of so many of the injuries, but we shall see!
Go W's!

NBA Fundamentals
They have so much trouble making crisp and accurate passes, avoiding travelling turnovers, taking intelligent shots and not relying on 3 PT shots, making FT's, playing smart basketball, executing basic NBA-level defense, and so many other little things.
Sure, the razzle dazzle, the fast breaks, raining 3's (every great once in a while), the improbable upsets, they are fun. But night in and night out, it is actually getting difficult to watch all of the silly unforced turnovers and the mental mistakes.
It is also getting very old watching marginal players keep having career nights against the GSW because of their pathetic defense. The GSW defense could be summed up in "I Really Hope You Guys Start Missing Pretty Soon So We Can Get Back in the Game Defense".
I suspect that no matter how many trades we make, until someone takes the time to instill basic fundamental NBA level skills and mentality in these players and then demand their execution, they are never going to move to the next level.
Enough fadeaways with three players defending, how about making some FT's? Enough 3 PT shots with 20 seconds left on the clock, how about fighting over screens? Enough one on one while four teammates stand and watch, how about making some passes without someone dropping the ball or someone throwing it out of bounds or right into a defender's hands? Enough waiting in the corner every time down for a 3, how about winning a jump ball once in a while?
And so on.
If the GSW don't shoot themselves in the foot, they could win tonight.

what don nelson said about adonal foyle...
Well, with both shaq and yao out it seems only fair that adonal be allowed to go to the bahamas and relax til one of them return?

I know this was addressed above, but..
EVERY HOME TEAM IS FAVORED TO WIN TONIGHT IN THE NBA!! It just annoys me that someone could even write down that Sixers are favored by 3. It's about 10 points off and must be fixed because it's downright embarrasing. gack.

The Warriors team record
Barnes can get over that tonight, crazy that the MC in TMC didn't put up 8 3's in a game at least once!
Barnes has only missed one shot tonight! (the 3 that could have given him the record)
Team record for one player
NOT the team as a whole.

Great Win
When we play good (like when we're at home), we play GOOD. Great ball movement tonight which was absent for parts of that road trip. It was a great win for our team tonight.
Barnes has been playing hard for us and has stepped up in the absence of Murph and up until recently JRich. I'm hoping Baron can get an All Star spot, but it looks like he might end up like JRich did.
