Adonal Foyle and Former Warrior "Great" Erick Dampier are Going... Nowhere
Yao Ming, Tim Duncan, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Steve Nash, and... Adonal Foyle? What could they possibly all have in common? Well, Chris Sheridan on ESPN.com notes that they all aren't going anywhere. The funniest part about the piece is the comparison between former Warrior "great" Erick Dampier who ranked #8 on the list and current Warrior fan favorite Adonal Foyle who's got the 10th spot.
On Damp:
We can debate whether he has improved enough to be worth his $9.8 million salary this season, but there's no arguing he's a cap killer in years ahead. He's owed $47 million over the next four years.
On the face of the Warriors' franchise Adonal Foyle:
You thought Dampier's contract was bad? At least he plays. Foyle is due $30 million over the next three seasons.
Only in a place like "Golden State" could both of these players be "tearing up the league" together on the same roster for 7 "illustrious" years.

Damp will always be remembered in the Bay for his amazing work ethic, tremendous improvement, drive to succeed, and great hands.
(Haha, I can't even type that with a straight face)
Right now given their horrendous contract sheets (Damp- 7 years $73 million vs Foyle- 6 years $42 million) and production, which player would you rather have on the Warriors?
This year's key numbers:
Erick Dampier: 28 games, 26:06 min, 9.4 ppg (68.2% FG and 59.3% FT), 8.6 rpg, 1.2 bpg, and hands of stone
Adonal Foyle: 17 games, 10:30 min, 2.8 ppg (64.5% FG and 61.5% FT), 2.7 rpg, 0.8 bpg, and hands of stone

BOTH
(Shutup, we all know it will work.)
foyle...
We have zero need for
My vote, the Foyled one.
Much like Zorgon, I wouldn't hate on Foyle even if he dunked on my grandmother. (like in the heated FIRE NELLIE diary, I didn't knock our Foyle)
But you understand if I used the Grandmama LJ Converse Aero Jam commercial 'old lady' instead of my real grandmother, right?!
Thanks Atma
Actually
Regardless, the take home point really is that 99% of rumors never happen, but 99% of them are fun to talk about. Seriously. We link to rumors and pass along whatever we hear, but it doesn't surprise me the least bit when they don't come true. GM's throw up smoke screens and try to boost the value of their players by using the media.
But make no mistake, Mullin and Higgins have been working the phones hard since this past summer. From what we've heard Higgins is the one who's more trigger happy to pull off a trade. Both of them have to be a little worried about their job security if the Warriors miss the playoffs for the 3rd straight season under their guidance with a worse winning percentage than the St. Jean/ Muss years.

Dampier cause he's actually playing
The problem is not so much the guys it's the failure of the coaches to use them proberly. If they have bad hands then don't put then into situations where they need good hands! Let them control the paint, get rebounds, and pass the ball. It's not rocket science it's basketball for christssake! When we're getting killed on the boards and we've got bigole foyle sitting on the bench don't that ring a bell?

Foyle over Dampier
When you take a look at their overall games, they are pretty much the same. Both are slow a foot, unathletic, and their offensive repetoire is horrendous. I think if given the minutes, Foyle's numbers would be comparable to Dampier's numbers.
So taking these things into consideration, both are very similar in terms of playing ability. The issue here is their contracts. The last thing the Warriors need is a contract that will put them into an even deeper hole. Dampier's contract would do just that, thereby making future deals with Andris Biedrins, Monta Ellis, and any other future star deals with the Warriors very difficult.
