OPEN THREAD: Game #31 - Warriors vs Celtics + GSoM Poster Night!

1229warriorscelts.jpg

Warriors (W-L): 15-15

Celtics (W-L): 10-17

Time: 7:30PM PST

TV: FSN Bay Area

Radio: KNBR 680

The Warriors are going to blow out another Leastern Conference opponent tonight at home, but it's still a very special occasion. Tonight my friends is GSoM Poster Night at The Oracle Arena. No Joke! All of your boys from GSoM minus Hash who moved to Denver to watch Allen Iverson (actually the poor man's been stuck there for 2 days trying to catch a flight out because of the snow and sends his regards for missing the festivities) will be there tonight passing out some fine Baron Davis posters. Look for a bunch of good looking fellas dressed in Warriors attire handing out these free bad boys around 7pm on the sky bridge connecting the Coliseum to BART as well as in front of the Arena. If there's leftovers we'll pass them out after the game too. Even if you don't have tickets to tonight's game try to stop by to grab a poster and say whassup.

fsnba-bd-poster.jpeg
We got 800 of these to hand out thanks to the good people at FSN Bay Area.

Make sure to send Get Well cards to (Janny Hu has all the injury details):

  • Monta Ellis
  • Troy Murphy
  • Anthony Roberson
  • These fellas in green: Paul Pierce and Delonte West (check out CelticsBlog.com to read up on Danny Ainge's disaster).

A blowout win and GSoM Poster Night? FAN-tastic!!

Vegas Odds: Warriors by 9.5

Predictions:

  • Warriors by 15
  • Baron Davis nets 25+ points and 10+ dimes.
  • Adonal Foyle gets 15 minutes of playing time.
  • Wally Szczerbiak puts up 25+ points.
  • Al Jefferson gets a double-double.
  • Your boys will NOT get jumped for the 800 Boom Dizzle posters.

Make sure to give us your predictions in the comments before tip off and post any comments you have during the game right here.

THROW UP A W!!

UPDATE:

Warriors Win!! 110-100

Stay tuned for the Recap!

Snore-fest?
I'm always excited to watch some Warriors, especially when a blow-out is scheduled. But man, are the Celtics a pathetic bunch without Pierce or what? I can't get excited about Al Jefferson; he's a decent talent I guess--for the Eastern conference. Szczzczczcerbiak? Telfair? Bah, what a boring bunch.

Warriors by 17, JR has a big game. Gerald Green dunks on POB in garbage time.

Odd
That's kind of a strange gig. I'm guessing this is somehow tied to your FSN affiliation . . . Too bad they didn't give you one of those T-shirt cannons.  Although the skyway is already crowded and dangerous  enough as it is. Some thugs stole my Warriors hat back in 89' on that damn bridge!

Celtics by 2 in a gut-wrenching 4th quarter collapse that results in me putting my foot through the TV. This is secretly my prediction for every "winnable" game.

by bloodsweatndonuts on Dec 29, 2006 4:41 PM PST reply actions

damn...
i can understand getting a hat stolen back in the beginning (and the end) of Warrior hey-dey. think anyone will be into Warrior posters (or anything Warriors) after all these years?

I am
going to the game tonight! My first game this season. I actually prefer to watch the game on tv so I dont go to many games but yeah I picked a great game to go to. Not because we're probably gonna win but because it's poster night! Hold onto a poster for me alright? Is there in and out privileges at the Oracle? I don't think so but is there?

O
and where do I get my food with my Friends and Family pack?

by DaAzNJRiCh on Dec 29, 2006 5:17 PM PST reply actions

I gotta say...
that I have officially hopped on the Barnes Bandwagon.
I thought for a while he shouldn't be playing in the NBA let alone the Warriors and starting, but he has done one helluva job and I have to give props when due.
If he can keep this up, and I hope he does, for his sake and W's, you can add his name to the list of candidates for comeback player of the year
Giving a shout out to Mr. Mean, Purvis Short, J.B. Carrol, Bernard and of course, Mr. Bill King

HOME!
I'm BACK BABY! Escaped the clutches of the evil snowstorm on Denver. I shall be the lone GSoM admin keeping you fine gentleman company tonight while my brethren hand out posters and bask in GSoM glory at the Oracle.

If I got that many Donuts from a baker, I'd be happy because he gave me too many donuts.

Lol
Anyone see Andris stop 2 seconds for a picture, and then walk immediately away. It was funny. Did that woman win a contest or something?

Anyway, it really felt as if our lead was gonna slip away at any moment. Luckily, the Celtics are so inept without PP, that we held on.

by Zorgon on Dec 29, 2006 10:03 PM PST reply actions

And Wally Szczerbiak
going 3-17 from the field didn't hurt either.

Adris took a quick picture with the woman while she held a NBA gameball. No idea on why.

by back2back51s on Dec 29, 2006 10:10 PM PST reply actions

Damn was I wrong
The Celtics looked feistier than I expected, Jefferson was impressive, JR did not have a great game, POB didn't play, and they only won by 10. Man, if Wally got hot, we would have been in some serious trouble, cuz he was getting open shots all night long. Nice win, and props to MP2 for staying after it all night long.
