Steve Kerr recently rated the W's 18th in his NBA power rankings: Golden State Warriors (23-27, Last ranking: 18) This is Kerr's observation:
"Baron Davis goes down and the Warriors win in Cleveland. Coincidence? They seem to share the ball more without him."
Yeah, I agree to an extent with Steve K. The Warriors definitely share the ball more because without Baron there are no real stars so the ball tends to move to the open man and no one person hogs the ball.
When Baron has the ball, he earns his assists mostly dishing to JRich (for 1/3 of the shots), and then (1/3) to someone who's open or when Baron sets someone up for an open shot; but then Baron takes 1/3 of the remainder of the shots - sometimes good drives to the hole and other times outside bricks. So when his outside shots or free throws are bad, we're in trouble.
It's a catch 22 because without Baron we'd be the same team we were last year, a mediocre team with some improvement among the players.
