Take Exception

It looks like the Warriors front office has let their 5 million plus trade exception expire today. The exception was the largest in the league. It was a great opportunity for the Warriors to add a much needed backup PG or front court defender (the defense on Pau last night in the final seconds ain't cutting it). Additionally, the exception was a potential method for the Warriors to rid themselves of some pretty awful contracts.

It's funny how the Sonics and Clippers could pull off a trade today and the Warriors couldn't with their trade exception. The Warriors should have been in the driving seat with that "gift card".

Let's hope the Warriors make some changes before the Februrary 23rd trading deadline. The playoffs are falling further and further away from the Warriors' reach.

Do you mind that the Warriors let the exception expire without taking advantage of it?

I take exception to losing the exception!
I wish the Ws could have gotten  Vladimir Radmanovic. That guy is a sharpshooter!  I didn't  know he was available. Now, Dunleavy Sr no longer needs Dunleavy Jr.

TAKEN EXCEPTION TO THE MIS-USE OF THE EXEMPTION
With players on the block such as: Darius Miles and Kenyon Martin just to name a couple, why woulnd't Mullin at least make an attempt? 5.2 million is a HUGE difference, especially to add an impact player. Granted I'm not physically in the front office seeing what's going on, but it just does not seem as if the Warriors are seeking to trade or improve the team. The playoffs are still within reach. The Warriors are only 3 games back from the 8th spot. In my eyes they do need another solid contributor, any solid contributor to make an impact. Another solid month like in Nov. could get the Warriors right back in the thick of things. What was Mullin thinking?? Mullin's exact words about the situation were: "This is where we are. We got ourselves here. I think these guys can answer the bell." Seems like he's basically given up on the season already, or maybe he's given up on his job?

It's not surprising that the Warriors let it go. Unless they were able to use it to pick up an elite player (Bosh, Garnett, etc.), I don't think Cohan would have wanted to add $5 million in salary for an average player.

It's not the worst thing in the world, but it doesn't exactly help.
