New Warrior Al Harrington Talks about the Trade

Al Harrington talked about being traded to the Warriors on the Dave Wilson Show on WIBC 1070. The interview is archived for your listening pleasure (7min : 28sec).

Here's some of Al Harrington's thoughts on the trade:

  • He didn't think he was properly utilized with the Pacers.
  • Harrington's excited to play uptempo under Nellie.
  • Al's in the market for a new crib in the Bay.
  • He had no idea that the trade was coming and expected to finish his career with the Pacers.
  • Al's mom isn't happy about the trade.
What kind of numbers are you predicting from Al Harrington in a Warriors' uni?

This is
kinda changing my mind about Al. He seems liek a good guy, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm glad this is growing on me. Only person I still hate is Jackson.

Go Warriors!

don't be hatin him based
from his actions from afar.  he's been misunderstood just like baron was before he found the dubs.  jax is good enough for bd, he's good enough for me.  jax had ron's back.  nba security deserves more fault than jax and ron for the fracas.  the shooting at the strip club, eh.  no explanation for that one.

Jackson seems like an okay guy.
I was a bit concerned based on what I've heard about the club incident and the brawl, but I saw a couple vids on youtube about how his typical day went and he seemed like a laid back guy. We shall see if they  can gel or not in the games coming up.

Two-faced in a funny way
I listened to both the Harrington interviews: this one in Indiana and the one with Tolbert and Barbieri. And man, did he play to both audiences. This interview makes it sound like he almost got a raw deal, like it's a horribly tragic event to have been traded. And then on KNBR he's almost giddy with excitement, basically thanking the lord that he got traded, and that he didn't even really want to be in Indiana from the get-go. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but he sounded more sincere with Tom and Ralph...

Also in listening to the interview with Jackson on Fitz's show, he definitely sounds like a cooler dude that I thought. Maybe he makes bad and rash decisions, especially based on blind loyalty, but he at least sounded sane and humble. When you listen to Ron Artest talk, it's like listening to a crazy dude on the brink at all times.. scary.

like i've said before
don't judge a guy until you know him or understand the situations he is in...i've had friends get in "trouble" before and that's doesn't make them bad guys..wrong place/wrong time usually.

Yeah
I looked inot this Jackson guy and it looks like he is a bit better than I've thought. He never wears the Same T-Shirt twice, and donates them to charity. Thats the only crazy thing about him. I hope he can fit in with the team.

maybe
Jax is to us as ron ron was to the kings last season at the deadline. Lets just say "treat with caution".
