The Nazr Rumors won't die

It looks like the Warriors front office is indeed talking about getting another big man.

This from the CC Times today:

... Detroit has inquired about Warriors combo guard Monta Ellis, recently acquired point guard Sarunas Jasikevicius, swingman Mickael Pietrus and forward Matt Barnes.

...

The Warriors need inside help now that forwards Troy Murphy and Ike Diogu play for Indiana. Adonal Foyle is the only true big man remaining behind starting center Andris Biedrins.

However, the Warriors might not be willing to absorb Mohammed's contract, which has four years and $25 million remaining after this season, or part with one of their perimeter players just yet. Warriors executive vice president of basketball operations Chris Mullin said Wednesday he wants to use the month or so remaining before the Feb. 22 trade deadline to evaluate his new roster.

It sounds like Mohammed is a dissapointment to the Pistons, can't play small-ball, but he has been known to step up in the clutch.  Above all other causes for concern in Warrior-land, he has a heavy contract.

I can't believe that the Warriors would even consider giving up Ellis for this guy.  Must be wishful thinking on the part of Detroit.

What should the Warriors do?
Sell the farm! We want Nazr at any cost!

Make the trade, but don't give up Pietrus, Barnes, and/or Ellis.

Try and get somebody like him, but without the huge contract.

Try to get a faster, long center to back up Beidrins (such as AK47).

Don't do anything, use Foyle in the role this guy is supposed to play.

What in the world???
Obviously the pistons think the warriors are stupid.  Monta for a stiff? Pietrus for a stiff?  Barnes? Jasikevicius (gotta learn how to spell this without looking)???  Extremely wishful thinking for them.  Do we really need another 7 footer to sit on the end of the bench?? we have foyle, and O'bryant couldnt even stay on the team.  Plus they seemed to ignore Josh Powell, who can be used as a foward device in case of emergency.

Why a center
In my opinion, a backup power forward behind harrington is much more useful

nazr could be a nice pickup
well barnes is right now the back up pf,

the depth charts seems to be

pg: Baron, saurunas
sg: Jackson, Ellis
sf: Pietrus (will back up richardson when hes back)
Pf: Harrington, Barnes, Powell
C; Biendrins, Foyle

nazr could play both pf and center which is nice

barnes isnt very good lately, maybe the pressure got to him

Oh, God no!
I can't stand Nazr; he lost his job to Antonio McDyss?  That explains it all right there.  Ellis for Nazr? I hope Mullin doesn't do something stupid to his recent excellent job on getting two unwanted, underperformed contracts. I still don't know why people are talking about AK-47, I think his value is so low now that even his past performances can't save him.

Ahem
McDyess is a good player. In fact, I'd much rather have him than Mohammed.

agreed
I would way rather have Dice than Nazr. But not for Monta...Piety maybe.

Let's Go Oakland! Gas, Brake, Dip.

I think
that Foyle should play backup big man, or we should bring in POB to do the work. He had a nice game against the Clips, Nellie! Give him a chance!

how about
foyle, barnes and pietrus
for
dice, nazr and davis.

davis would never get off the bench, he's an expiring too. I don't know if this works but i'm putting it out there.

I also wouldn't mind seeing AK 47 in blue. If the asking price wasn't too much and if Utah would take Foyle off our hands, then i'm down.

Warriors, Stupidest franchise in the league. Purgatory is thy home.

Foyle
off our hands!?!?!? More like "prying him from our cold, dead fingers!!!!!"

Lets look at the company he is in for "longest active streak of a player on one team"

  1. Kevin Garnett, 12 years
  2. Kobe Bryant, 11 years
(T) 3. Tim Duncan, 10 years
(T) 3. Adonal Foyle, 10 years
(T) 5. Zyundras Ilgauskas, 9 years
(T) 5. Dirk Nowitzki, 9 years
(T) 5. Paul Pierce, 9 years

Not bad company, no?

At worst he is a Big Z.
