Warriors and the Playoffs

Looking at the line tonight for the Nuggets with Camby, Ai and Carmelo they have to be easily the 5-7 spot

After it all shakes out I see this order:

Dallas
Phoenix
SA
Utah
Denver
Lakers
Houston (? with all the injuries they are still there it seems)

Its looking like Minn, La Clips and the Warriors are going to be fightening it out for that last spot.

I am trying to believe.

Thoughts on my order

The Next Four
We need to win these next four games, and they're all very winnable for this hungry Warriors squad. We got a hurting New Jersey at home on Wednesday, a struggling Bobcats team on Saturday, and then road games versus the Cavs and the Hawks to follow. At worst, we should go 3-1 on this trip, hopefully 4-0. 4-0 would put us at .500 23-23, a nice record indeed.

4 Tough Games Ahead
The way the team's played, we're lucky if they split the next four games as a microcosmic trend of the rest of the season: .500 ball until the grim end, resulting in a 13th season of playoff envy for the organization. 4-0 in the next four? Come on, brother, not even the hardest of the hardcore would put their fat Vegas chips on that happening. Even a 3-1 mark seems tenuous, at best.

Simply put: Jersey, even without Jefferson and Nenad, always plays us tough. Maybe it has to do with Kidd vicing up and getting habitual about big fplays whenever he plays against us. They got a good shot at making our losing streak a bona fide issue, something like that small mark on your face that turned into a bulging zit overnight, sheer misery. Before you know it, that small losing skid turns into something much worse.

While the Bobcats have indeed struggled, they're just as schizophrenic on offense as the Warriors, racking up points in bunches, Tony Dumas-style, or languishing through ridiculous drouts. Feast or famine but don't be surprised if the Warriors pull this one off. With so many heinous officiating calls and close games lost, expect the Warriors to finally enjoy a small dose of karmic justice.

Cleveland: Lebron gets to the line 15 times, Biedrins fouls out yet again, exposing Papa Adonal to Ilgauskas and the freak down low, Varejao. By this time, fatigue catches up to the Warriors, turning a close game into a fourth quarter rout. Cleveland wins.

The Hotlanta game is a toss up. Wouldn't surpise me either way, although if the Warriors do fall to the Hawks, we seriously need to reassess the legitimacy of the team as it relates to the playoffs. Losing to the Hawks would only remind us of what we already suspect: while the trade did much to improve the club, Nelson and Mullin are already thinking ahead to next season and beyond.

2-2 in the next four games at best, with 1-3 being the more plausible scenario...

I prefer...
To look on the more optomistic side. A home game vs. NJ....the crowd will be pumped, first home game with the nembies and baron, and without nenad we stand a rebounding chance, and can outrun them.  Home vs. Charlotte? definately a should win. Away vs. Cleveland will be hard, but we proved to them we can stick with them, we'll have Baron this time, and hopefully will be on a 2 game roll....and Atlanta is...well, atlanta! we gotta win there...

Yeah.
No Krystic or Jefferson. I like our chances.

If you take a look out of your windows, you can now see Dallas, TX. Quite the site, no?

2 ways to look at it
what should happen, and what will happen. what SHOULD happen is that we should run over an injured nets team and struggling bobcats team, then struggle against the cavs but beat the hawks to go 3-1. what WILL happen is the nets will come in hungry but the warriors will squeak by with a win, then beat the bobcats. they'll go on the road and lose a heartbreaker again to the cavs, then be deflated and lose to the hawks to go 2-2.

I like it.
I like it a lot. I feel like the warriors can easily get in to that 8th seed once they get some more rhythm with each other. They got a squad now. They just need not drop too far under 500. Our schedule with only 3 REALLY tough teams to play against until the allstar break. (those being cleveland, denver, and chicago.)

Except
one of the top 4 teams has to be from the northwest division.

You really see
Utah faultering like that?

I am not so sure about Houston that high either and if Camby can stay heathy I see Denver going on a big run

I think next 4-5 games will pretty much tell us if the Warriors are in it.  They have to dig deep

Yeah.
I don't think the next 4-5 games are indicative of anything, but I'll go ahead and pretend they are so it's more intersting.

I don't think Utah will faulter like that, now that I look at it. I do believe they are this years Detroit of last year.(play real well during the season, underperform in the playoffs.)
