Around SBN: Kobe Bryant Isn't Up To Speed On Jeremy Lin, 'Linning'

JRich Trade? Not likely.

In an interview with Tim Kawakami, Chris Mullin emphatically stated that he will not trade Jason Richardson.

My question: A week ago you gave a rejuvenating jolt to the franchise by trading Mike Dunleavy and Troy Murphy to Indiana; could Richardson, another of your old favorites, be next out the door?

"Jason?" Mullin said, bolting up in his seat. "No. I've seen Jason enough to say, `No.'"

No, as in: Richardson's not going anywhere. Right, Chris? Anybody asks about him, you say . . .

"No," Mullin said.

Yeah, but we need another big man, right?  And JRich is a sure ticket to a quality player!

Mullin doesn't deny that the Warriors could use another big man. He won't rule out making any move that could bring the playoffs into view.

But he said that Richardson is "absolutely'' on another level than Dunleavy and Murphy. Even though Richardson (due back from his broken hand in a few weeks) hasn't been healthy enough to show much to Nelson yet, Mullin said Richardson has proved his worth.

"Nellie's waiting for him with open arms,'' Mullin said.

Maybe this was just post-trade languor. Maybe Mullin will change his mind if Richardson is the price he has to pay to land a key big man. But it doesn't sound like it.

"We're more athletic, longer, just tougher physically,'' Mullin said. "I think we can match up one-on-one more, offensively and defensively. I think we've seen that. It's been apparent.

Another valid argument, brought up by Al Harringturtle, is that what would we do with a big man?  Most beast-like shot blockers are not known for speed.

... Harrington said that he doesn't see the need for more major retooling. You couldn't use one more player, Al?

"I really don't think so,'' Harrington said. "Maybe a `big,' a shot-blocking `big.' But I don't know if he could help us because of the way that we run. For the style that we play, I think this is a great team.

"I like the team we've got right now. I'd rather keep the team just how it is.''

(By the way, the instructions on creating a quote are messed up and I forgot how it was done before.  It shows the final result instead of the code necessary.)

Here it is
This is what it says when I'm creating the diary:

Quoting is easy! Just insert this line-

to get this effect:

I see in the Post Comment section I should put div class="blockquote" (with the greater than and lesser than symbols) so I'll go back and fix it.

inpossible
because it's inpossible to get a player who is better then jason, and asks 10 milion.
If you want a better players, you got to pay more.
So if you want to trade him, it's almost inpossible to get a better player back. And btw, I think you shoudn't trade the hart of our franchise. Why everybody drops on him after one season with injury's?

well...
I consider myself one of the biggest JRich fans out there and at this point i dont see any reason to trade JRich either.  But the realities are this:
  • all things being equal, better players or combination of players do exist in the NBA
  • the NBA is business and eventually contracts and age start to factor in
  • some players never fully recover after certain injuries or surgeries
  • never say "never"
Now there are certainly valid arguements against each of my points, but realistically it is possible to improve our team by trading JRich correctly.  Hopefully it doesn't have to happen anytime soon.

If he was traded who would it be for?
Even if J-Rich was traded, what team would he land on? Also even a bigger question who the Warriors get if they traded J-Rich. I would like to see the Warriors get another big man. So that Andris doesn't have to do it all. Josh Powell I really like good young player. I think he has a great career in front of him. The question is Foyle. I say this will be his last or maybe one more year. See the only thing that I wouldn't like if they traded away J-Rich is A. I really like him and he hasn't got a chance to play all year just that little part and B. Andris. If they get another big man that might effect Andris. They have two young players who I think are going to have great careers Patrick O'Bryant and Josh Powell. They should wait and see how they turn out. Besides if they wanted a real good big man they would just draft another in the draft has they like to do. Andris three years ago, Ikee two and O'Byrant this past. I say if they trade J-Rich now that would be a huge mistake for a big man
