OPEN THREAD: GAME #46 - WARRIORS @ HAWKS
Warriors (W-L): 21-24
Hawks (W-L): 16-27
Time: 4:00pm PST
TV: None
Radio: KNBR 1050
Don't be fooled by the Hawk's record though. With some athletic wings and sharp shooting (at least from Salim Stoudemire), look for the Hawks to keep pace with the Warriors if not possibly outrunning them. Josh Smith, finally healthy, has had four straight double doubles and Joe Johnson can score any way he wants (25.1 ppg). Dunleavy killer Tyrone Lue solidifies the bench, providing 13.1 ppg. I haven't watched many Hawks games, but if a Lebron-less team can destroy the Warriors, I imagine that the Hawks might put up a fight more than we think.
Bay area sightings in ATL:
Former Warrior Speedy Claxton! An(other) injury plagued season has slowed him down though and he is out for a few more games.
Stanford Alum Josh Childress. One of the better rebounding two guards in the league, Childress has been a steady and invaluable role player. Can we say that about any other Stanford player to have ever played in the NBA?
Vegas Odds: Hawks by 1 (as of 9:06am PST)
Predictions:
- Warriors by 1
- Warriors play some shut down defense and keep Tyrone Lue to one take down
- Shelden Williams has a breakout game and goes for 17 and 12 against the Warriors donut-like defense: empty middle.
Make sure to give us your predictions in the comments before tip off and post any comments you have during the game right here.
Update: Yahoo Boxscore
Update 2: Warriors lose another "close one" on the road 94-115.
Stay tuned for the recap...

why??? stop the bleeding
-17
GREAT PERIMETER SHOOTERS.. ARENT THE WARRIOR GREAT CONFIDENCE BOOSTERS!!! I WONDER WHAT BARON HAS TO SAY NOW???
i just threw up in my mouth
apparently, i was fooled thinking this team could make a run to the playoffs this year. I just can't understand how we changed a quarter of our roster and look exactly the same.
last year we wasted JR's allstar effort, this year it's Baron's. I'm sad/sick. Who's got sandwiches??
Missed layups
Sjax missed one open layup didint he ?
Do the dubs jsut suck bad on the road or is it just the nerves ??

de ja vu
Is this game really happening
good night!!!
to think
here we didn't think they could do worse than the 2-20 on 3's they shot last night, but they've managed a sweet 0-12 today. In addition to the 65% from the line.
Oh! And more than half the 4th is gone and we've scored THREE POINTS!!!!
in the words of Bill Simmons, i will now light myself on fire...
guys

Let's Go Oakland! Gas, Brake, Dip.
21-25 for January

It ain't EASY, stoppin' TOO EASY
Woot.

If you take a look out of your windows, you can now see Dallas, TX. Quite the site, no?

but look how happy the hawks are? like it's the first time they've ever won. they should save some of these points for all the other games they have left that they're gonna lose.

It ain't EASY, stoppin' TOO EASY
guys cmon dont get too down based on 2 games
Agreed
If we had beaten these two crappy teams (Cavs without Lebron = crappy) we'd be 23-23. Now we're 21-25.
Bad luck, if you wanna call it that, doesn't always even out. We're fvcked.
by Sleepy Freud on Jan 31, 2007 6:36 PM PST up reply actions
well
This team isn't good enough to only get up for playoff teams like San Antonio, Detroit, Phoenix, Utah, LAL, etc. And we certainly can't be bipolar when it comes to road and home games. It'd be nice to see even half the effort/passion that we see AT HOME/against +.500 teams when we're on the road and especially when playing -.500 teams.
even J RICH was pissed
