Knicks waive Jared Jordan

I dont know what you guys think, but I think we should go after this guy. He´s a free agent now, is a rookie (so he´ll be very very cheap) and pre draft scouts said that he one of the best pure PG in the draft. It´s a common sense here that we still need a true PG (distribuitor not another shooter like THud). I think we could have a look at him...

Or even maybe
Jamaal Tatum, he was also waived by the Hawks today. We could really take a look at on of them.

hrm
The guy on ClippersBlog really likes him.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at him an stashing him, but...two teams that need true points have cut him already.

Who would you cut for him? If we didn't have Kotsa, I'd have no problem signing and sticking him in the D-league. Lasme would be the next most likely candidate, and I'm not sure I would ditch him for Jared Jordan.

agreed, OZ
I was already surprised that Jordan was "let go" by the Clippers when they really needed another point guard (although snatching up Brevin Knight made up for that). I would've thought that the Knicks would've at least tried to free up some of that payroll in exchange for a pass-first PG.

He
was the first player since 87 (Avery Johnson) to lead the conference in assists for two straight seasons (this season he averaged 8.7 assists).
I agree that its strange that 2 teams let him go so easily but I´d really dump #19 for him.
By the way, is it possible to simply waive him?
That is the good thing in cutting your roster to 14 players. You can try to get another player without having to waive one of yours...

Sure
We can waive him, but we'd be on the hook for his $3.5M the next two years.

Forget about Jared...
OZ, in your opinion, which I think is very wise, if we had to open a roster space for another player what would you do? Buy out someone? who? waive someone? what do you think is the best option for the Warriors?

depends
On who we're waiving a player for.

Jared Jordan is interesting...but is he more interesting than Lasme or Kosta?

Lasme could be cut since he's making nothing and I don't even think he's guaranteed. We have a ton of big man depth at the 4, also...so he'd be the one to go.

I'm just not sure Jared Jordan is more interesting than Lasme. I'd have to read up more on him.

As for Kosta, I wouldn't cry at all if we bought him out or cut him, I just don't think it's likely. First of all, he's a Duffy Client, and I wouldn't go around pissing him off over Jared Jordan; Second, we'd still have to pay the $1.75M this year or whatever buyout we negotiated (also unlikely to save any money).

Might Kosta be better kept as trade bait or salary filler?

I agree
I wouldn cut Lasme. No way. I feel he´s got something special and that he´ll help this team. So you think that waiving Kosta would be a good thing even if we have to eat his salary for 2 years?
Also, do you think that keeping a 14 man roster (much like Denver) is a good thing?

Kosta
i don't think cutting him is a good thing, since we won't save any money. Unfortunately, i don't think we can trade him (alone).

Basically the roster we got is the roster we'll have until the trade deadline, unless something totally unexpected happens.
