Tim Kawakami Q & A w/ Chris Mullin

link: http://www.mercextra.com/blogs/kawakami/2007/10/24/chris-mullin-q-a-here-and-there-a-week-before-the-regular-season

In this interview, Mullin implies that to get KG we'd have to trade our whole team for Minnesota's whole team. If that was the case I can see why we didn't get KG, lol.

He also talks about all the guys on the last year of their contract, his developing reputation as a risk-taker, the starting lineup Nellie announced, and more.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Sigh...
Is Mullin turning into Bill Belicheck?  He didn't answer any questions.

Summary:
"We like our players.  We didn't win a championship.  We'd be interested in making our team better but not interested in making the team worse.  I like my job."

Haha
I must admit I didn't even click the link for that reason. He never says anything. If I was in the media I wouldn't even bother interviewing this guy.

That's a pretty good analysis
Except I don't think Mullin was that specific.

uber disappointing "article"
TK got zilch - just filling space on deadline imo

Kawakami
is beating a dead horse with the KG stuff. We didn't win the KG sweepstakes and its about time to move on...
The J-RICH show is on his way out...=(

well
personally I found Mullin's answer to the KG question very interesting. It seemed like he was implying the T-wolves were demanding something outrageous for KG
It's almost like the Warriors have 6 guys out there... they always have a guy open! - Rick Barry commentating game 3 last year

Mullin has turned into a PR hack
He has become the type of person who talks without saying anything of substance. You can't believe anything he says anyway (just ask JRich), so it's hardly worth listening to him. Oh, they were asking too much for Garnett? Shocker. I was wondering why the deal didn't get done...

He's a guy who mortgaged the franchise in his first two years, only to spend the next two years trying to dig himself out of the huge pile of dung he'd built up around him. So now he's considered a "risk-taker and roster-changer?" What a crock. More like an a*-saver.

I guess I'm grudgingly willing to give Mullie a mulligan for his first couple of years considering who he is. But I'd keep him and his PR mouth on a short leash. If the Dubs don't make the postseason this year after trading JRich, I'd can his a*.

so instead
He should tell us all the moves and thoughts that go through the Front office's personel processes.

Right.

No GM gives away that stuff, you're overreacting.

on target
and if you recall, he never announced his early moves in advance until he made his mind up either so this is nothing new for him to hold his cards to his vest so to speak - no one expects less and we'd be even more disappointed if he wasn't at least that smart ... what loyal & intelligent fans appreciate and have a reason to expect is an insightful or at least thoughtful response to questions that either entertains or educates fans about the game ...

in Nelson we trust

or
just give is more funny don nelson stories

I wouldn't mind if Mullin answered every question with a Nellie anecdote, he's probably got enough to last years.
