First 24 Hours of Training Camp - School's back in session!

Wow I came across this terrific article that basically follows the Warriors from media day all the way to day 1 in Hawaii!  Unbelievable chemistry, teams like this happen only once in a lifetime, I cannot wait!

This was my favorite part, during the plane ride to Hawaii, and I almost fell out of my chair laughing:

First-class is hopping. New captains Jackson, Davis and Barnes rule the roost here, at least according to Jackson. "That's the godfather," Jackson says, pointing back to Davis. "We're the under-bosses. He makes the calls." "And we enforce them," says Barnes. One rule: No rookies in first-class.

under-bosses!! HAHAAH that's a webpin waiting to happen.  someone make it please!

One more:

The spirited workout and the Warriors' first 24 hours of the 2007-08 season end with Davis and rookie Marco Belinelli competing in a 35-foot three-point shooting contest. Belinelli should have gotten advice from Sidney Moncrief, hired Tuesday as a shooting coach; Davis won 4-3.

National Exposure so Important
Not only does this piece show what we know about our Dubs, it reveals to the rest of the world how likeable they are.  With Isiah's self-imposed troubles, Baron is more concerned with learning about the world's troubles.  I'm embarrassed to have been this excited at the open of the 2004 season.  Now, this is a lineup to be excited about.  Dubs did a commendable job ridding themselves of mismatched pieces and assembling a diverse and deep bench.  And, they're a marketable team that can get the critical call and shed the bad boy image that the rest of the country may be served.

sooooo true
i really think that this is a young, deep team that's worth being proud of. also, the more national exposure we get and the more familiar the rest of the nation becomes with our roster, the more valuable each player becomes in a trade.  we are in a very good place right now as fans.

i mean, names like antoine walker and ricky davis are pretty well known and are always thrown around in trade scenarios by trolls even if there are better players with less money who can do the same job.  i really think that GM's kinda think the same way with big names as well. For example, now that Pietrus got some playoff burn with a hot team, he's the new James Posey...basketball fans on the east coast (who don't know any better) are all salivating along with their favorite, overrated teams (cavs, heat) over our mistake-prone bench player. very nice.
