URGENT NEWS: Monta's Gonna Be OK!!!!!

Golden State Warriors guard Monta Ellis, who was injured during the team's evening practice session at BYU-Hawaii on Friday when he hit his head on the hip of rookie forward Brandan Wright during a full court scrimmage, was released from the hospital late Friday night (Hawaii time, just before midnight). Ellis left Castle Hospital in Kailua, Hawaii on his own accord with what was diagnosed as simply a neck sprain.

Here's the link

warriors.com training camp blog says that monta's gonna be ok!  we can all relax a little bit now and just be grateful that he's made the speedy recovery we all hoped for.  Not saying that he's fully recovered, but he's gonna need some time to rest and heal up still.  GODSPEED MONTA!

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

i just was about to post this...
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/warriors/detail?blogid=39&entry_id=20935

"Just got word that Monta Ellis has been released from the hospital. All tests came back normal. The official diagnosis is a neck sprain, and it looks like he'll miss only a few days of practice. He's up "walking and laughing," as one Warriors official put it."

whew...what a scare...good to hear that the guy is ok.

Great news!
He should definetly take it easy, and not go full throttle for a while. Thank God he's ok, usually when you hear about someone lying motionless, it's a lot worse.

(Exhales)
Thank fvcking God. I was dying.

Now rest up, don't rush back, and tell Brandan Wright to put a little meat on those sharp hips...

Thank God
the kid is OK. This reminds me of the scarry incident of Dee Brown in the Utah series when Okur toppled on him.

Geoff Lepper of Contra Costa have more expanded report on the incident. What is touching is how Davis lay alongside him whispering words of comfort. Wish the TV crew caught that and what Davis is saying

Team captain Baron Davis lay alongside Ellis for several minutes to offer comfort.

is it me...
or does Monta seem to get hurt every training camp? His injury history is rivaling that of the much talked about Baron Davis' and Monta is about 9 years younger. Not good IMO. He needs to find a way to get stronger and become more durable if he is ever to become a big minutes player.

Let's Go Oakland! Gas, Brake, Dip.

Last season
Monta DNP on only 5 games. I think that is when he hurt his shoulder on a road game. He played 77 games last season and he is next to AB who did not miss a game last season.

neck sprain
is not as bad as a head injury, but not anything to rush back from - they gotta be planning on bringing him back slowly rather than rushing him

side note, anyone else tired of the media hype when injuries are concerned? This wasn't as bad as it was made out to be ...

3 cheers
Everyone treated the situation with the proper amount of caution and hope.  I'm extremely proud of my Dubs.  What great news to wake up to.  Baron for President!

Great news!
Things sure sounded scary last night. What a relief.

By the way (and apologize if this has already been posted), but did anyone catch Nelson on Jim Rome's show yesterday? I only started listening in the middle, but I did hear Rome ask Nelson who was going to replace J-Rich at the 2 guard spot. Nelson talked about Kelenna and Marco, but never once mentioned Ellis. Then Marco gets hurt that evening. Very creepy.

Yeah
when they were talking about the Warriors last night, they said that Nelson had designated Monta as the backup point guard to Baron. Hudson's on the 3rd string.

Oops
Make that "Monta gets hurt that evening"

Hell Yeah....
My girl just woke me up w/ a text saying he was fine, so I rushed to GSoM...this is really great news.

He just needs to take it slow and steady, and come back when he's ready. This isn't a simple knee sprain.

Good to see the GSoMers all interested in his well being.

Dylan-Nellie has been praising Marco. He's been saying all along that Ellis NEEDS to be a PG, maybe that's why he's not including him in the discussion to replace JRich @ the 2 guard. And you did mean Monta got hurt right? not Marco.

GO WARRIORS!!!!
