USC...CAL

I know this isn't the right place to post this, so delete this if you like OZ. But I just got off work and found out that USC lost 24-23 to Stanford. STANFORD!!! the school with a tree for a mascot. Cal's Palo Alto neighbors.

This is really good news for Berkeley fans. The Golden Bears are going to at least be ranked number 2 in the polls, and with LSU barely pulling through against Florida, Cal has the slight possibility to be ranked numero uno.

Although this is really exciting  it is probably moot though considering Cal-USC face off next week. And it could be dangerous for Cal because the Trojans will probably be hungry after this loss. But for at least a week Cal will be number 2 or possibly 1. And if they beat USC next week, they are in good shape.

Once again, I know this isn't the right forum, so delete it if needed, but I've seen other Cal related info here before.....and im just mutha f***in juiced!

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

lets hope that the pollsters dont hate on CAL like they have every other chance they have gotten and put Ohio St. 3rd since CAL had a week off. LSU FL was a great game.... had me jumpin around till the end.

USC Loss
Ironically, USC's loss is bad news for Cal.

Before the loss, if we go undefeated, we're in the national championship game. If we lose one (to USC), undefeated USC goes national, we go Rose Bowl.

Now, if we go undefeated, we still go NC, but if we lose one to USC, our Rose Bowl hopes rely on USC going to the Championship despite this loss to Stanford.

In other words, the USC game is even more must-win for Cal then before. If Cal loses, a one-loss USC will take the Rose Bowl from a one-loss Cal.

Why would the tie go to USC?
Also, USC hasn't looked very good this year, except against Nebraska, who are apparently not very good as they have struggled all season. And they lost to Stanford! USC was a 41 point favorite to win!

My bet is that USC will lose at least once more this year in Pac-10 play.

Go Bears!

cuzzz
because they would have the tiebreaker.
So yeah, this isn't good. Although were ranked higher, its not something to celebrate

The tie would occur if USC beats us
and if they beat us, I doubt our 1-loss season would beat out theirs for the Rose Bowl spot.

Actually...
Cardinal refers to the color cardinal red.  The tree is an un-official mascot i think.
