OT: Selling Warrior Tickets

I have some season tickets that I have to sell.  I'm not trying to sell them here.  I'm just wondering what experiences fellow GSoMers have had selling Warrior tickets through the various internet outlets.

The options appear to be Craig's List, the Warriors web site and Stub Hub.  Craig's List is free and appears to get the most traffic.  But the other options appear to be a hassle free way to sell, although not free.

What are some of your experiences selling Warrior tickets?

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

I agree
Stub Hub is great. I get a bunch of dumb offers on craigslist. My goal this year is to try to make it to every home game so i dont have to worry about selling the tix last minute.  Maybe we should have something on this site.  A last minute section for tix. We can email the tix anyway. Just an idea.

Stubhub
is totally worth the commission they charge you.  Craigslist is great, but for sports tickets, its a hassle... making plans to meet some random person at some random place and then not having them show up, or having to make sure they're not scamming you if they do show up.  It's just not worth it - use Stubhub.

Actually, four tickets
to random games throughout the season.  They're on the upper level, but very good.  In the middle, 6th row.

Stub Hub
I was also curious about the amount of the Stub Hub commission.  They don't seem to tell you on their site.

STUBHUB vs. CRAIGSLIST
here's my personal opinion between the two.  i've been selling tickets on CL for about 6 years now and have only had 1 bad experience, which was partly my own fault.

<u>CRAIGSLIST<u>

GOOD
-FREE (no hidden commission or fees)
-EASY (posting ads)
-PRIVATE (can be contacted w/o having your # or personal e-mail address on the internet)
-QUICK (great for last minute deals or to be contacted)
-CHEAP (no need to raise prices because of fees, smart buyers use CL)
-OPTIONS (you can meet up w
a buyer, use USPS or FEDEX, or use PAYPAL and E-MAIL tickets)
-KNOWN (widely known for being able to post anything and everything on the internet for FREE)
-FREE (did i say that already?  it's true...see above!)

BAD
-CONVENIENCE (not convenient in regards to making exchange)
-SAFE (not as "safe" using CL because transactions are not guaranteed by CL; no seller/buyer protection)
-LOWBALLERS (you will occasionally get lowball offers)
-RESTRICTIONS (there are restrictions to post an ad more than once w/in a 10 day period, but there are ways around it...ssshhhh)
-POSTING (in order for someone to see your ad at the top of a search, you need to post often)

<u>STUBHUB<U>

GOOD
-EASY (fairly easy to post tickets on SB)
-SAFE (i believe transactions are protected by some rule in SB)
-CONVENIENT (you can monitor sales online and ship out tickets w
printed mailing labels)
-CREDIBLE (SB is definitely a well-known site for event tickets)

BAD
-FEE (15% commission...need i say more?)
-EXPENSIVE (ticket prices are way higher on SB to make up for the 15% commission)
-OPTIONS (only one option to send tickets, via FEDEX)
-TRACKING (unless you're always on top of sales, it's a real hassle if you're not checking it all the time)
-PENALTIES (if you don't confirm a sale by a certain time, you can be held liable for finding alternate tickets for that game(s))

if you want a quick sale or want to sell multiple tickets quickly, CL is the way to go!  if you want to make a bit more money and don't want the hassle of trying to figure out how to make an exchange, SB may be your choice.  anyways, IMHO, i think CL is the better of the two.

hope this helps!
