Who would u rather have now, Wright or Noah?

I remember before the season started a lot of us (mainly OZ) were saying how we'd rather have Noah than Wright.  After seeing both of them play a bit, who would u rather have, Wright or Noah?  IMO Wright is looking real good.  His length, athleticism, and close to the basket game. I think he's ready to contribute now and if Nellie gives him more of an opportunity, I think that hell prove me right.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Yay
Let's ask this question after every game.

"Are we there yet, Daddy?"

But since you asked: Wright.

If we compare stats....
Noah and Wright are averaging the same amount in boards and rebounds per game,  except Wright is doing it in half the amount of minutes played.  Of course this is a superficial comparison but it does show that Noah wouldn't be a significant enough improvement to Wright.

Wright is...
...every bit as long and athletic as Noah, and he's already got some polished moves. He's been rebounding with an otherworldly smoothness. He's gonna be the guy we've wanted all tese years, I can feel it.

dude
when i first saw him in mock drafts (i think he used to be #3 before his stock fell), i remember distinctly thinking, "Wow, this guy sounds like the exact kind of player that we'd NEVER draft.  He'll make some other team really happy".  So when my roommate broke the news of the trade, I was jumping around in joy.

We finally drafted a genuine blue-chipper.

i'd take
Wright without hesitation

Wright
Noah, isnt a really great player. Its just because he was on Florida and had great teammates to make him look good. Noah is a good player, but I think the future is brighter for Wright. (He can elevate!)

Shouldn't Wright be in Minny?
I still can't figure out why the T-wolves would not accept the W's offer for Garnett, especially if it included B. Wright.

Though we are only 10 games into the season, I agree the answer is Wright. But I wouldn't sleep on Noah just yet.

Ratliff was the key.
Boston offered a young, promising player (Jefferson) who had already shown an ability to play in the league.  They coupled that with other young players that I doubt will turn out to be worth that much, but are still young enough to have tantelizing "potential" and they are neither expensive nor under contract for very long if they turn out to be worthless.  Boston coupled this with two first round picks and did not saddle Minn with a large, long term contract.

Minn was looking to rebuild.  If you believe Monta and Biedrins and Wright are equivalent to Jefferson and the other players Boston send and you believe that we'd have been willing to part with similar picks, then it comes down to the baggage that comes to make numbers work.

Ratliff and his expiring deal was something we couldn't contend with.  What were we going to offer to make salaries match? Foyle?  Richardson?  Seems like they didn't want him else the Wright trade never would have happened. Harrington?  A tweener-cannot rebound forward who has been a consistent negative net  +/- for much of his career and has a multi-year deal paying him well above the average NBA salary though he provides no more than average production?  Not really what a rebuilding team wants.

Minn didn't accept the offer because an offer that included expiring deals was better than one that included mediocre talent.

the TPE
I still contend that failing to spin the TPE into a large expiring (or several medium expirings) was a mistake. Even buying out Jasekivicius was kinda iffy, since a $4M expiring is alot more liquid than a TPE because it can be combined with other players. Not to mention I would rather have a passing PG than "look at me shoot" THud. Then there's the Celtic connection. We shoulda hired some of Red Auerbach's relatives to get in good with Mchale and his Celtic pride.
