Taking care of the ball

I am loving the Warriors' offensive efficiency this season. Last night in the frenetic shootout against the Suns we somehow only turned it over 10 times, and on the year we are averaging just over 13 turnovers per game, good for 5th in the league. For as fast a pace as we play, 13 turnovers per game is excellent (last year we averaged 16). In fact, we currently lead the league in turnover ratio (Hollinger term - insider), which is the percentage of our possessions that end up in a turnover.

The player most responsbile for this statistic is of course Baron. He is averaging 8.9 assists and 2.8 turnovers for a great assist to turnover ratio of above 3:1. Big ups to the Beard for his inspired play this year. This will be a career year for him as long as his health permits.

Barnes also has put together a nice ast:to ratio of over 2.5:1. Monta and even Harrington deserve some mention as well as they are posting 2:1 ratios.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Warriors O
I couldn't have asked for a better offensive gameplan than the Warriors executed tonight.  Almost every offensive set had a purpose to it: usually it started off by getting a mismatch on Nash or Barbosa, either by getting Baron posting up or Ellis in a 1-on-1 with Nash.  This led to our other players not over-dribbling like they sometimes do (I'm looking at you Jackson, Barnes and Pietrus).  When the offense runs through your best ballhandlers and passers, the ball gets taken care of.

Monta's growth
I am really happy for Monta. He seems to really be learning how to pass the ball at the right time. I hope he can keep this up.

Also, I never thought of Pietrus, of all people to be over-dribbling. I'll be really surprised if there's some truth in this statement.

Monta is Improving
Huge improvement.  Instead of 1 assist/4 TOs; its now the opposite.  He made some nice passes inside last night on dribble penetration to get his teammates some easy buckets.

The rest of the team was great also.  (Baron's stats suffer a little because he makes nice passes to Biedrins and when Biedrins fumbles it, Baron gets the TO.)

Nothing better than "The City".
