Bargain salary players

Decided to compile a list of bargain salary NBA players for all of you here, who like to talk trades and salary cap. Hope it also helps for a comparison and future reference
Criterias:
No one over 32
Player have to be established
No rookie/veteran/bought out contracts
At least 2 years left on the contract

J.Howard     $9mil    07/08, $10mil   08/09
C.Butler     $8.25mil 07/08, $9mil    08/09
T.J Ford     $8mil    07/08  $8mil    08/09
S.Jackson    $6.5mil  07/08, $7mil    08/09
Gooden       $6.5mil  07/08, $7mil    08/09
Tinsley      $6.3mil  07/08, 6.75mil  08/09
S.Battier    $6mil    07/08, $6.5mil  08/09
Haslem       $6mil    07/08, $6.5mil  08/09
Barbosa      $5.5mil  07/08  $6mil    08/09
Haywood      $5mil    07/08  $5.5mil  08/09
Korver       $4.5mil  07/08, $4.75mil 08/09
L.Walton     $4mil    07/08  $4.5mil  08/09
Pachulia     $4mil    07/08  $4mil    08/09
D.Stevenson  $3.4mil  07/08  $3.6mil  08/09

How about having a starting 5 of
Ford/Butler/Howard/Gooden/Haywood or Tinsley/Barbosa/Jackson/Haslem/Pachulia and still being $20-25 mil under the salary cap?

Feel free to add players to the list or maybe argue with some selections

are you kidding me
that lineup is weaker than our lineup without baron.

Are you sure?
So Ellis/Azubuike/Jackson/Harrington/Biedrins is better than Ford/Butler/Howard/Gooden/Haywood? I highly doubt it. If we can't win without Jackson we won't be able to even hang with anyone without Baron

I still like sleepy's team
waaaaaaaaay better.
Best duo since...

oh my bad
i take that back thats good lineup right there i must have scimmed over that one and read the second one only.

Not sure what you mean by bargain players...
They all look like they're getting paid fair market value or more to me.

by ThermoElectro on Nov 30, 2007 10:18 AM PST reply actions

Did you read the second part of the sentence?
It says $20-25 mil under the cap. Warriors are a borderline playoff time pushing luxury tax. Throw that $25mil on one or two superstars for any of the starting fives I suggested, and you got a championship team, while still under the luxury tax.

by JustAnotherWarrior on Nov 30, 2007 10:21 AM PST reply actions

lol
That team would suck and wouldn't even be close to a championship because you would have no bench. After a while all the players would be exhausted from playing 48 minutes every game and would all get injured.
The J-RICH show is on his way out...=(

My "bargain team"
Can beat yours...

PG: Chris Paul $3.6M
SG: Kevin Martin $1.8M
SF: LeBron James $13.0M
PF: Emeka Okafor $5.4M
C: Dwight Howard $6.1M
----
Bench
Deron Williams $4.0M
Monta Ellis $0.8
Danny Granger $1.5M
Josh Smith $2.2M
Andris Biedrins $2.6M
----
Total: $38.8M

Heh, I know you said no rookie contracts and only "established players," just thought I'd expand the parameters a bit. That team would be ... pretty good.

by Sleepy Freud on Nov 30, 2007 11:23 AM PST reply actions

That shouldn't count
because a lot of the players are under PPP such as Kevin Martin and Dwight Howard. Most of the bench is also due for huge extensions.
