Poll: Nellie or Phil Jackson?

Ok, I know the "anti-haters" will jump all over this post, but just for fun, who would rather have as the Warrior's coach:  Nellie or Jackson.

It seems to me Jackson outcoaches Nellie every time we play (0-9).  But then again, Nellie outcoached Avery in the playoffs.

I am asking this hypotethical question because I'm curious.  I know getting Phil Jackson is not an option under any circumstances, but thinking "big picture"--like how do you go deep into the playoffs--from whom would you vote?  More importantly, why?

Nellie
As a Dubs coach, cause our players are built for his system. Phil in most other systems.

Phil vs Nelly
As much as I respect his record, I wonder how many wins Phil would have had if he didn't have the best basket players on the planet for the last 20 years(Jordan, Pippen, Shaq, Kobe).

For this warrior squad, nelly is better because he can make an under talented team better - which is what the warriors are, let's face it.  I think Phil needs at least 1 1st team all nba player on his roster to succeed(there I said it).

Best duo since...

true
if i just imagine Warriors now with any other coach -even with Jackson probably best record would be 12-8

Nellie is a rebel and this rebel stuff is what gives him extra value -he definitely have more style

BOTH
Are fantastic coaches, but I just hate Phil Jackson. Everything about Jackson I hate. (I dont know why, but something about him makes me hate him) I love Nellie though cause hes a fat guy on the bench directing our W's! Kinda reminds me of Don Vito. :)

Nellie
Jackson's a great coach for getting good teams over the hurdle to be great teams, and is spectacular at managing egos.  However, as someone else mentioned, his gaudy record is mainly a result of coaching said great teams - it's hard not to have a good record when you're coaching Jordan, Pippen, Shaq and Kobe.

Nellie's a better choice for getting a team from the cellar to the playoffs, and Jackson's a better choice for getting a team from the playoffs to the championships.  For these Warriors, Nellie's the better coach simply because this team has practically been built to his specifications.

Jackson is pompous
Nellie tells it the ways he sees it.  Jackson whines about the refs constantly and he's managed egos but never seemed to bond as closely as men with his playerss.  On a plus for Jackson, he refused to accept a Hall of Fame induction because the Triangle architect, Tex Winter, has been refused entry.  I think he finally went in last year.

Devil's Advocate
For the sake of argument, I'd take Jackson.  All the posts make good points, especially about the talent level Jackson had to work with.  But Nellie's quirky systems and trickly mentality can only take a team so far.  Look at Dallas and what transpired after Avery took over.  More disclipine, much more emphasis on traditional defense (rather than shoot fast, hope for a rebound then run and gun again).

Jackson is one of the few coaches who could command the respect of Baron and Jax, at least IMHO.  He seems to make good players better and can also handle superstar's egos.

I think we are extremely lucky to have Nellie--as the poll results reflect so far. And, it makes our team fun (and frustrating) to watch.  But we are in for a hell of fight for the 8th seed with very good teams with good coaches.  I would take Jackson if I had a choice; but, again, this was a very hypothetical post.

he once coached the lakers with kobe and shaq i think
and he coached wade and shaq
where don nelson had to start from scratch
chris mullin- pulling him out of his alcoholic habits
turn many dallas players to stars
and etc.....

Phil or Don?
Phil has that king sized chair since his hip replacement(s).  It is pretty funny since he hardly ever stands up.  Maybe the players carry him in before the game :-)
