T-Hud done?

I mean, I haven't seen him in a few games, and he hasn't impress me with his play, but this is really unfortunate. On the other hand, the Warriors get to find another backup PG!

"I think Troy's probably done," coach Don Nelson said after Wednesday's shootaround. "I don't think he'll play again. I'm serious. It's unfortunate, but he has a hip problem, and I haven't heard a second opinion, but it doesn't look good for him."

Didn't realize
someone already posted the link in the open thread already.

i wasn't kidding
The link had been posted in unrelated stories/diaries.

There really should be some way to transfer those comments here.

Too bad...
for him. He seemed like a cool enough guy. I wish him the best of course...

But this could be a blessing in disguise for the Warriors. This should free up a roster spot (assuming he retires or they cut him). Maybe we could call up one of those D-league stand outs that someone posted about recently.

Oh and thanks for making a Diary about this, I have seen talk about it in almost every active diary and in the open thread but it will be nice to have one spot to comment about it.

Who is a standout Guard in the D-League?
I really have no idea. I know Jeremy Richardson who the Grizzlies signed is supposed to be good.

Do the Warriors go after Boykins? Or Ruben Patterson(I know he is not a guard) or what about Terrance Kinsey, can't say I know much about him but I do know he was lightening it up last year down the stretch.

D-leaguers
I'd mentioned two guys (Andre Barret and CJ Watson).  there are no doubt others.  Some GSOMers(in the link below, oz) think Barret's too small to play in the league at 5'10.  I think that's not necessarily true, especially for a backup as jlagace said.

I'm all for calling up Barret at this point.  I don't really see a better quick-fix far as the backup PG spot, and its not like sub six footers have never had success in the league.

plus, I think that our style of chaotic ball-hawking defense would tend to mask a player's height, or lack thereof,  as long as he's smart enough to make the correct switches.  given his long career at Seton Hall, I'd think he's as heady as most.  maybe OG Randy Livingston deserves a look, too.

It always sucks when a guy gets hurt, you never want that.  But I do think the dubs needed to go in another direction, and this injury will require  management to do so.
again, here's the link to Barrett's stats, and below are the links to the Utah diary where this was discussed a little bit.

interesting
i never wanna see anyone's career cut short by injury......but it's troy hudson. having him not play is the best (only?) way he can help the warriors

can't agree more
really, the only negative this brings is Pietrus will definitely get most of the heat for lost games again.

Meanwhile, no more yelling "Get Hudson off the floor" on the TV and means more chance for Belli to get some burn when we run out of options. He's also the only option when it comes to garbage time unless deactivated. So, we get to see more of him and maybe it'll help him turn his game around.

On a side note: MP only stepped out of bound twice on my count.

Woot
It's time for Andre Barrett:

But man, that's a sad thing about Hudson.. We all wanted something like this to happen, but now that it really has... it's kinda sad.

I know he played on the run & gun suns, but
is he even in game shape.  Espn special analyst work isn't exactly physically demanding.

this might be a great idea.
More veteran leadership - Been to the finals and played lights out in the playoffs w/ Mullin. Only downside is that he may be way past his prime. Anyone know about injury history - i.e. knees?

worth a shot.
he could easily get into game shape....

I got a trade Idea
How about Jaric and Gerald Green for POB and MP2?

Didn't do much research, but from reading the comments on the one of Twolves message boards, neither player has any value to them.  They seem to look at green like we look at mp2.  And the only good thing they say about jaric is about his tastes in women.

If anything, minne gets more expirings from the deal.

We get a backup 6'7" pt guard w/ a model GF.

Best duo since...

i doubt
minny would give up green. take him out and that might be a pretty good trade. plus i wouldn't want him anyway and have to look at that god awful way he wears his headband every game

contracts and replacements.
I suspect strongly that there won't be a roster move until Jan 5th unless one is made before tomorrow's game. Contracts offered before Jan 10th that aren't of the 10-day type become guaranteed for the rest of the season.  It means that the audition period would be rather short before Nellie would have to make a decision on the remainder of the season with the guy.

Though it sounds like they're more or less resigned to this being the end of Troy's career, my guess is that they'll wait the three weeks until the 10-day contracts are available just to see if his condition radically improves in that period.

Great Point
You are probably right on this one. Hopefully we can expect to start auditioning D-Leaguers in the new year. I can hope for this years version of Buke can't I?
