Nice hotel on 880?

Shh... I'm surprising my husband with tix to the T'wolves game on the 26th. But we'll need a hotel.

Star-divide

He needs to be at work in San Jose at 7 AM the next morning. I was looking at the Courtyard (by Marriott) Oakland Arena at $169 a night but if anyone has any suggestions for a nice-ish place further down 880 I'd love to hear them. Fremont? Milpitas?

Thanks!

hmm
there's a Marriot in Fremont, but im not actually sure how much that is. Also, there's a Marriot courtyard like a block away. They're both new Club Sport in Fremont. How about the Hilton in Newark? Or Motel 6?

CHECK THIS OUT...
SimpliCITY 2 CITY Travel

The Hilton right along Hegenberger seems pretty "nice-ish" for $98/night on 12/26.  There's also a few others in that category for a little bit more that I found on my website (linked above).

Go check it out!  It's a secure site that has rates that are comparable, if not better than Expedia, Travelocity, etc.

Let me know if I can be of some assistance too!

the Hilton by the Airport
It's been a few years, but I stayed there when I had a really early flight out of Oakland to catch and I thought it was pretty nice.  I wouldn't worry too much about the morning commute on the 27th because alot of people will be taking the week of Christmas off, otherwise, I'd probably go with a place farther south on 880.

Aren't there a few hotels right off 880 across from the arena on the airport side?

where in san jose does he work?  if you want to stay in milpitas theres a sheraton right off the freeway and a marriott courtyard inn @ the great mall.  both right off the freeway.

Milpitas
Thanks, I'd forgotten about the Great Mall. He's on First Street right near the airport.

Combining a bunch of replies into one: The reason I want to go back down 880 after the game is because he has the commute from hell. Even leaving from Oakland on December 27, I just know he'd be booking out the door at 5:30 AM. And I'm like - can we be close enough to SJ so that he can sleep in? so we can have coffee? Maybe even partake of the Courtyard's free breakfast together?

So I'll look into the Courtyard at the Great Mall, yeah. I've had really good luck with them the past few years. If y'all ever drive up to a Kings game or just need to go to Sacramento try the Courtyard Sacramento Airport Natomas. That one has breakfast included although the one by Cal Expo doesn't. I was psyched to try the Oakland Airport Courtyard until I realized the above timing issues.

Thanks guys. :)

Also
The W Hotel in Newark is pretty dope... as long as you don't mind being in Newark, that is.
