Tell the NBA that We Want Baron!!!

http://www.nba.com/allstar2007/mailbox_overlooked.html

Go there and tell them we want Baron to go! He might be picked as a replacement. Nobody is saying that Baron deserves to go so we need to start telling them that he should go! This pisses me off kind of. All I want is to see one Warrior in the All-Star game in my lifetime. Bay Area Represent

(great great post by the way)

Baron Davis, who has previously been a two-time all star, is having his best season this year.  How could he have been an all star two times and not be an all star now?  The reason is his team.  Instead of judging him, his team has been judged.  But with all due respect, he has been adjusting to a new roster, and the teams record doesnt show his efforts.  Furthermore, it's preposterous that because he's in the West, and because the NBA conferences are highly unbalanced, he sits at home while multiple players from sub-.500 eastern teams are being placed in the all star game instead.  I think it's a travesty and a darn shame.

BD fan and I wear his Jersey to every game I go to
The league is large and has a lot of stars. I think Baron Davis a good basketball player but I think we can agree that we expect more from our all stars. All stars are winners and BD needs to win to get the recognition he deserves. BD is great, he plays hard, he scores, he dishes...but we are not winning. Not every player can be an all star and if Baron wants it he has to put the onus on himself perform in such a manner that there is no option but to put him on the team and only he can do that.

side note...I'm not sure I like this whole fans voting in the all stars e.g.Shaq.

I put in
Adonal.

Reason:

Adonal is a great defender and shotblocker who gets snubbed by coach Don Nelson, who does not let him start. He is also a great guy, and gives back to the community.

Why not Baron Davis? He has carried his team. Now granted, they don't have the best record, but he is having a phenomenal year anyway. He has morphed into one of the best point guards in the league, the best 2nd to Steve Nash in my opinion. His scoring is up, plenty of assists, and the Warriors would be much worse than they are if they didn't have him. He gets other people involved, and knows when he has to take over a game. He was robbed of the reserve spot, and I would love to see more recognition for his amazing year.

what are you talking about?
That's not his fault. He has played an injury free season, with great production. If they don't make the playoffs, its not his fault.

I still think...
The MVP is about most valuable, and winning. The All-Star is about best player. Winning shouldn't be taken into account much.  Besides, if people say he's not in the all-star game because the Warriors are under .500, then what about Shaq, Dwyane Wade, Kevin Garnett and Chris Bosh (starters), Vince Carter, and Jason Kidd, who all play for .500 or sub .500 teams?
If you have to replace the 5 sub.500 players in the East with +.500 players, suddenly you've got Grant Hill replacing Dwyand Wade, Zydrunas Ilgauskas replacing Shaq, Rasheed Wallace replacing Bosh, Ben Gordon replacing Vince Carter, and Kirk Hinrich replacing Jason Kidd.  hmmmmm......I rest my case, I suppose.

Anyways, it looks like at least 1 player (Yao Ming), and quite possible 2 (Carlos Boozer) will need to be replaced in the West. I would say Carmello Anthony and Josh Howard and the frontrunners, but i've got my fingers crossed for Baron...
