Ellis... to the SWISH!

GSoM friend Preetom Bhattacharya recently dropped an article on Monta Ellis for SWISH Magazine. Check it out:

Special thanks to Pree for getting us permission to post it up.

Ellis to the Rim is having a breakout season, but how good do you think he'll be next year? Predict his numbers in the comments.

i think
19 points, 4 rebounds, 5.5 assist, 1.5+ steals six man of the year

6th man?
I think the award would have to go to Ben Gordon or Leandro Barbosa, plus i don't think Ellis is eligable.

Anyway, great article, Pree!

KID WONDER...
is still just a kid!  he's naturally talented and will put up good #'s, but he still has a looooot to learn!  it might seem like he's as cool and saavy as a veteran PG, but sometimes i think he needs a little bit more attitude!  i don't want another JAMISON, who didn't show any emotion in his game until he was practically out the door!

my prediction is 16PPG, 5.5APG, 4RPG, 3TOPG

GO WARRIORS!!!

i think
monta's going to blow up next year, ala Deron Williams.  b/c i'm hoping/praying that Mully makes a move to get Baron out the door, get some bigs back in exchange (i know i know...never trade big for small, but maybe we can find a taker) and move monta to the starting PG.  if he can become a true point, that also has that nasty scoring instinct, the dubs would be sick.

perfect world we somehow send out foyle+baron and get back quality big men and a solid back up point.

MAKE IT HAPPEN MULLY.

monta...
is a great talent...but, he really needs to add the 3 ball to his arsenal to get to the next level. seriously, if the guy could knock down a couple threes per game he would average 20 easy.

Let's Go Oakland! Gas, Brake, Dip.

I think that should be worked on in the off-season
and gradually developed. For now, he really shouldn't be shooting jumpers. Sure, he had a wide-open game winner, but he is a mediocre shooter.

That's just plain wrong.
Ellis is one of the best shooters on the team, period.

Totally agree
Ellis is money anywhere inside the arch.  The 3 ball is just a little out of his range right now.  He makes that elbow jumper look like a free throw...

haha
the elbow is at the free throw line

Warriors VETERAN CENTER
That's right!

I like how the article sterted with, "It all started with Mike Dunleavy, Jr." It made me go whoh, he's relating a poor draft to Ellis somehow? Then I just realized it was a rebound. LOL.

i expect
monta to sure up his 3 point shot a bit more, and make his mid range jumper even more deadly. players are usually developed by their 3rd year so i wouldn't be surprised if he averaged 21 or 22 points and 5 or 6 assists.
