Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

OPEN THREAD: Playoff Push- Clippers @ Kings- GOOOO COWBELLS!

kermie.jpg
Don't hate 'cause he's green!

Clippers (W-L): 34-37

Kings (W-L): 30-40

Time: 7:30pm PST

TV: ESPN

The Warriors aren't playing tonight, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't be paying attention to the NBA scene tonight. If the Warriors are going to make the playoffs this year they're going to need some major help from other teams. Even if they won all of their remaining 9 games that first round date with the Dallas Mavericks wouldn't be guaranteed.

Mathematically both the Kings and Clippers are competition for the Warriors to finally make the playoffs this year. However, the Kings are a long shot and the Clips are 1 game ahead of the Dubs for the final playoff spot. So, tonight our Pacific Division friend is the Sacramento Kings.

Preview Madness: Sactown Royalty | Clips Nation

Vegas Odds: Kings by 4 (as of 4:04pm PST).

Predictions:

  • Our friends to the north come up big and win by 6.
  • Ron Artest helps us out by being a Tru Warier.
  • After lights-out shooting Mike Bibby gives a great post game interview in his Kermit the Frog voice.
  • We all thank god that Nellie's Warriors are 100x more fun to watch than Muss' Sacrapmento and Funleavy Sr's Clipped.

Make sure to give us your predictions in the comments before tip off and post any comments you have during the game right here.

Throw up a cowbell!?

clips are only a game up
but they still need to lose at least two games, maybe three depending on the tie breakers. Even if we win the rest of ours clips have to lose.

...if
-you're a Kings/Clippers/Hornets/Wolves fan!

zorgon, have you burned out?
i've noticed a major decrease in your posting of late.  i can't agree with your comment, given the latest victory over the suns, but i can understand the perspective, especially if you were referring to the lack of fun of the perpetual roller-coaster, inconsistency, and so on.

or, is it that you don't like the style of play?

by OaktownWarrior on Mar 30, 2007 7:23 PM PDT up reply actions

Eh
I just don't very much like any of the people who play except Richardson, and I absolutely hate the style of play. And yeah, I've been watching them less and less lately. I didn't wanth the Suns game because they are annoying games. Just "Southwest.com" 1000 times.

my prediction
Artest starts a brawl and fights elton brand. Brand gets suspended for 10 games and artest gets banned for life. Sacramento wins this game 97 91.

Are we going to be able to watch the game?
ESPN lists it as carrying the Rockets and Lakers game after Indiana and Orlando.

by back2back51s on Mar 30, 2007 7:22 PM PDT reply actions

Did ESPN switch it up?
The Yahoo preview I read this morning had the Clips-Kings game on ESPN.

by Atma Brother ONE on Mar 30, 2007 7:32 PM PDT up reply actions

I saw that on the yahoo
boxscores too a few minutes ago before the game started, but ESPN is airing the Houston/LA game.

Yahoo got it twisted.

And the Kings are losing right now!

Warriors.  It worries me...especially after last night's game against Phoenix...These guys are definetly out to catch up to us

that's what we like!  keep looking back, and we'll be sure to catch up...

End of the1st
tons of FT's, Kings down 11, 30-19. Ouch.

by back2back51s on Mar 30, 2007 8:12 PM PDT reply actions

Jason Hart should
put together a Barnes like revenge game vs the team that let him rot on the bench.

The Kings bought him out and he's found a role with the Clips.

This is hot garbage
All those damn years I lived in Davis having to listen to those freakin' Kings fans bragging about how good they were during those playoff years.

Now they suck and all we need for them to do is beat the Clippers and they lay this crap down.

Thanks, Sacramento.

We need Bibby to get hot
9 point Clips lead, 3:15 to go in 3rd quarter.  Make it rain Pacma... I mean Bibby!!

by bozaframa on Mar 30, 2007 9:21 PM PDT reply actions

When he gets hot and does the
unnamed hopping dance like last week during his King's record 9 three pointer game, it should be called the wokka wokka.

this is why i was pretty pissed at all these bay area fans cheering for the kings during that whole kings vs lakers era. honestly, people forgot that the bay had the team. i finally cheer for the kings, and what happens? thanks a lot.

great games tonight in the nba tho. tell me you enjoyed that mo pete shot. they're gonna shoot michael ruffin.

Queens...
you guys are useless.  I suppose their fans still think Bibby can turn it on like he did during the '03 Playoffs?

Since when did the Clips get so good...
the one year the Warriors have a chance to make it and lo and behold, the Clippers are good too. WDaF!?
