a foolish man's diary
this could just as easily be called "a warrior fan's diary" since those two phrases pretty much go hand in hand. anyway, we all know the recent six game losing streak was the low point of the season, with rock bottom coming in the absolutly embarrassing collapse in chicago. however, despite all that, a look at the standings shows the warriors still just 3 games back of the 8th spot. tonight in detroit we saw a glimpse of what could happen the final 20 games, with the whole team finally together and healthy for the FIRST TIME this year. a couple weeks ago i said that the season was over. am i ready to go back on that? not quite, but i am cautiously optimistic after what i saw tonight. but i am a warrior fan, so it is in my dna to be cautiously optimistic!
This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

It is tough...
Baron has always been the team leader and regardless of he's in the game or not, he makes people around him better. He is the team motivator, leader and role model. In all reality, he's the optimistic side of the warriors that offsets the pessimistic demeanor of Nelson who seems to like to motivate his players by saying they are playing horrible, or letting them play through mistakes (only his favorites).
You were right though that the warriors play a lot better with Baron b/c of his huge role in the team. Everyone seemed to have that much more energy last night on defense (despite playing on the end of a back to back) that fueled the fast break and the easy buckets, that caused the Pistons to have more turnovers in the first half than they have average per game for the season. Granted they didn't have R. Wallace last night, the warriors played the best basketball in a long time last night and it should give the press and the pessimistic fans a break from bad mouthing the team.

Just to let you guys know..
Baron's pulled more than his weight this year. Surround him with more stability and I think he'll be able to play a full year injury free.
He may have been injury prone in the past. But this year, he was just overworked.
