STILL NO LOVE

by Garrett Wilson
from Hoopsworld.com

Finally, the Warriors are healthy again.  And just in time, too.  For a minute there, it looked as if Golden State wasn't going to make that last little surge that makes all the Warrior fans think they have a chance even though we all know they don't.  Now we all get to have our hearts broken good and proper.

Man, after 2 convincing wins, we still can't buy any love!  I think the fact that we do have a healthy roster for once, gives us all the hope we need for the playoff push!

So far the W's have shown a lot of life and EFFORT, which I always speak highly of, in the past 2 games.  It's just a matter of continuing that and going out there and winning some ball games, especially against our conference opponents like tonight!

GO WARRIORS!!!

"If you build around them...they will come!"

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

So?
Big deal. He's right. Every year they do this, and every year they miss the playoffs. Why should he give us any love?

not asking for love either...
...until we earn it. 12 years is a long time.
I love the Warriors. I love how this site is filled with tons of people who agree the Warriors suck, but still watch every game. I am with you.

AGREED...
that the W's have to earn it, but it just seems there are more haters than hopefuls!  Kind of sad, but I guess so is missing the playoffs for 12 years in a row, possibly 13.

:D
Yeah, it kind of is. Everyone around here is optimistic, but a guarentee there is some caution that comes with it too. Warriors fans have been let down far too many times to bite on this bait.

I disagree with his analogy of their defense though.

he's right
they do it every year. they need to prove someone wrong before they get the love

Huh?
How can people complain about 'no love' for the friggin' Warriors? They DO do this every year. Can't really show too much love to a team who's won TWO games after losing six in a row. Let's get real here...
Finally hoops hope in the City Of Dope?

Let's be honest
The last few losing streaks have really nailed our coffin.  If we make the playoffs, it will mean:
  1. The Livingston-less Clips tank (probable) &
  2. We beat out the Wolves and the Hornets down the stretch (significantly less probable)
We don't deserve the love, especially this far in the hole down the stretch.  Plus, what does a #8 seed get us?  One and done?

I hate to be a pessimist, but I guess I'm just losing my optomism.

You have the wrong outlook, dude. It's not "Oh, all we're gonna get is fried by Dallas.", it's "Oh damn we finally just made the playoffs, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TWELVE YEARS."

Despite what people think around here, beating Dallas by 2 or 3 points does not qualify us as having their number. Especially when it takes a spectacular shot by J-Rich to win it. They will murder us, but us as fans will appreciate the effort they made to get there, and will give us a more hopeful outlook for next season, with something to base that hope on.

yup
i don't think too many people here would care that much if we got killed by dallas. at least we were in the playoffs to get killed by dallas

I completely agree. Making the playoffs would be  so exciting that even the four losses will be a pure pleasure to watch. And we might even win one or two at home. But lets not get ahead of ourselves...

for everyone
right now is the wrong time to get negative.  you can expect the warriors to make it or not but we need to be positive.  yes we lost six in a row but we have one every single game with the full sqaud and that gives us hope.  we've been through more shit the whole year then any other team we are competing againts for the last few spots and they still have similar records to us.  now we're healthy.  i think that is saying something.  basically we have been playing with half a sqaud or less the entire year and we are still in it.  now we have everyone and it appears that we are just starting to play good.  we have plenty of games left.  all we need to do is play solid and put a few win streaks together.  we have a great opportunity tonight because we are playing against one of the teams trying to get in.

true
although i'd say the hornets have been thru more than us. losing 4 starters at one point in the season, and still being in the hunt? impressive
