yup

it's official. the warriors must run the table to put the pressure on the clips and lakers to do so as well. and looking at their schedule, they have a good chance in doing that don't you all agree? the lakers too have a pretty easy last 3 games but they're not doing so well right now and the clips still have to play phoenix. who knows. barnett was right, its going to come down to the last week of the season to determine the 8th AND 7th spot.

i'm just so pissed at them. they've screwed us over 7 times this season. SEVEN FREAKIN TIMES!!!!!! but yeah, we do need to run the table, and i think we would have had to do that even if the clips had lost tonight

It IS the last week of the season
And it has come down to it.

I say if we go 4-0 we're probably in, 3-1 kinda iffy, and 2-2 we're definitely out.

Phoenix could play a huge role in the race. They play both LAC and LAL; and if last game is any indication, they're still playing hard. From recent comments, it seems like Nash wants them to get a little sharper for the playoffs. Also, They haven't clinched the #2 seed yet, which gives them some incentive. In other words, Go Suns.

yea
no more of that 'go lakers' nonsense

Words of Hope!!
"Phoenix could play a huge role in the race. They play both LAC and LAL; and if last game is any indication, they're still playing hard."

Im hoping that the Spurs could put pressure on the Suns for the second seed as well so that they really will be playing for something next week when the meet the clips...

Best case scenario
Is that the Suns are in a position where they need to win the LAC game to clinch. Because SA holds the tiebreak between them, that's actually quite possible. All it would take is for SA to play at least one game better than PHO over the next three games:
  1. SA -- @MIN, @DAL, @MEM
  2. PHO -- LAL, @UTA, @HOU
Since none of SA's opponents are playing for anything, and all of PHO's opponents areplaying for something (UTA and HOU are vying for homecourt in the first round),I'd say this is quite possible.

As to your question on who to root for PHO v. LA: the Suns, absolutely ... but you can take a little solace from a Suns loss.

Hey sleepy, question?
I was looking at the fantasy league and noticed on the trade histories for the teams that joes allstars, you, and me all have 23 player additions(including our initial picks)?

by Skeptic con Urquell on Apr 13, 2007 10:48 AM PDT up reply actions

Is that true?
If so, then he's figured out a way to hack that part of the system. Period. I swear on my Warriors' fandom. I noticed SEVEN player additions when he had none remaining. If it were one or two I might think I had miscounted, but not seven.

But while we're on the subject, what I wanna know is how Faybo could pick Elton Brand and Corey Maggette! I mean they were awesome Fantasy picks, since the Clips (1) are playing for their playoff lives; and (2) as of yesterday had more games remaining than any other team. And it worked like a charm -- those obscene 133 points last night (for just two players!!!) vaulted him right back into contention for the title. But, I don't know ... I'm not superstitious about it or anything, but right now I for one wouldn't want to have to root for Brand or Maggette with any fiber of my being.

Then again, it is just a silly game, so ... shrewd move, Faybo. ;-)

Or maybe...
You and me are both Fantasy cheaters too ... ?

More words of hope from sleepy!!!!!
"Because SA holds the tiebreak between them," thats what i was lookin for last night but i was just to mad at the loss to even think basketball...thanks for the info!!!

Lakers and Playoffs
One question: Are the Lakers serious on making the playoffs? They can essentially miss the playoffs with the way things are going right now. If anything, both the Clippers and Warriors deserve to make it. The Lakers seem like they're losing the battle of who's the better team in L.A. I'm just disgusted with the way things turned out in this game.

Agree.
Just left that thought over in the other diary on the Lakers and why we are cheering them on.

If this is a conspiracy to get the Warriors to miss the playoffs or some Phil Jackson backwards plan to get them to lose the rest of their games then try to win the last game of the season, man, new Commish please. David Stern your time is up!

Acceptable outcomes, no pie chart needed:

-Lose and stay home Lakers!
-Kobe gives up in the first round like last year making a moot point about his team not being good enough if they do get in
-Kobe manages to be the last player this year to get injured, thus they lose games and don't make it

Clips out of gas?
The clips might not have much in the tank for the blazers game. They had to use every ounce of energy they had to win this game. Cassell will probably have to sit out because of old age.

Our neighbors up north, the kings, play all three of us competing teams (sorry NOK).
