100% true warrior fans

there have been some comments on here about some people that leave early not being real warrior fans and i agree completely. after today's game tho, we found out who the real true die-hard bleed blue and gold fans are. the game ended with about 3 minutes left to go in the kings-clips game, and hardly anyone left! the lower bowl was still pretty filled up with us fans waiting for them to put the score up on the screen. finally they did, and everyone cheered. me and a dude behind me were checking the scores on our phone since we were getting the updates a bit sooner than the big screen. everyone there was living and dieing with each update. if the kings scored, the crowd went crazy. if the clips scored, the crowed booed. we even got the BEAT L.A. chant going. the most stressful part was when they put the score up and put 0.7 seconds left, only to change it a few seconds later to 7.7. but as we all know, the kings pulled it out to the cheers of all of us 100% true warrior fans

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

I dont think
leaving after the Warriors game itself is over and not staying to watch the clips/kings results (which could be viewed at home, etc.) makes you not a 100% Warriors fan.

People have lives outside of being Warriors fans, they should be allowed to live them without being called out for their "suspect" love for the Warriors.

In agreement with the other guys
Considering that the Warriors game was destined to be a blowout, and that traffic was gonna be horrendous with the A's game going on, leaving early today is nothing to get worked up about.

Heck, win or lose, leaving early doesn't necessarily mean not being a "real" fan. As has been pointed out, people have lives they need to attend to.

All it really takes to support your team is a desire to see them succeed. I'd rather save those harsh accusations for those who say they're fans but hint in one way or another that they really want the team to lose via pessmist/masochist habits.

Whoever marries the zeitgeist will be a widower soon.

let me clarify
i wasn't trying to make it seem like anyone who left early wasn't a real fan. i understand that people have other responsibilities. i was really just trying to say that i was very happy to see so many people stick around after the final buzzer to see the outcome of the kings-clips game. i still don't understand how some people can leave halfway through the 4th quarter though, unless of course they have an emergency to attend to.

I stayed
I don't know if it has anything to do with being a "true fan" or not, but some people are definitely more "wrapped up" in the playoff hunt than others, and I was not leaving until I found out what was up with the Clippers!

As for that 0.7/7.7 seconds thing, my friends and I thought that maybe the game had already ended several minutes before with a blowout score or something, and the jumbotron guy was just having a good old time messing with our heads!

Yup
A LOT of people stayed actually, including myself. It looked like 60% of the fans at the game stayed several minutes to look at the scoreboard.

Problem with this post
I did leave early with about 5 minutes to go in the forth quarter, actually it was the first time I've left early all year, I did it cause the Warriors throughout the game had done a terrible job of keeping us updated on the Clippers Kings score (once at the half and once at the end of 3rd Q) I got in my car and listened to it live on 1140AM.

But my problem with this post is this, where were all you guys that stayed til the end yesterday the last 7 or 8 years?  I routinely stayed and watched us play horrible game after game through the lean years and there weren't 60% of people there. And the arena was only 1/2 full to start with.

I'm glad to see the fans come out and support the team, but most of the "true fans" have been there for the bad as well as the good, and I'm sorry but a lot of the people who stayed probably weren't around 2, 3, or 4 years ago.  Actually I'm betting a lot of the people like myself who left and the guy that's sat next to me for the last 5 yrs are probably more true fans than a lot of you guys that stay now that the playoffs are on the horizon.

Yeah
All of us that stayed are playoff bandwagoners.  We couldn't even spell Warriors until the last month.
