Let's Come Up With Reasons Why The Warriors Will Win

Here is an article about 10 reason why the Mavs will win.
http://www.dallasbasketball.com/morestories.asp?id=3740&NAV=1

We need to come up with 10+ reasons why WE WILL WIN!

And does anyone know if Don Nelson actually said this

As Nellie said, "I'm worried. I know how good they are. I know we've beaten them. ... I just hope we didn't make them angry."

I'll start it off...

1. We are 16-5 over out last 21 games and had the toughest schedule over that period. We also are 9-1 over our last 10. We are playing our best ball of the season and our defense is actually stepping up. The energy that we are bringing is just overwhelming teams.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Six Reasons
  1. Dirk is a fragile superstar, and our man Jax can fracture his psyche with some physical defense.  I wouldn't be surprised if Jax laid a very hard foul on Dirk early in the series.
  2. Terry and Harris can be taken into the post and undressed by Baron.
  3. If the Mavs play small, they don't have the same depth advantage.  Going small basically removes Dampier, Diop, and Willis from the rotation.  I don't see Croshere able to hang with a fast-tempo game either.  That leaves Terry, Harris, Stack, Howard, Dirk, George and Buckner as their "small" players.
  4. If the Mavs play big, Harrington is going to score 30 a game with all of his open 3s.
  5. The pressure is entirely on Dallas.  If the Warriors can get one of the first two, will they react like they did vs. Miami last year or vs. Phoenix two years ago?  This is not a mentally tough team.
  6. The Warriors have been in playoff mode for 6 weeks, so the level of focus and intensity necessary for playoff success does not need to be summoned.  It's already here.
Still annoyed that we drafted Tod Fuller

Whoa.
Actual, serious basketball talk? On this board? ;-)

Seriously, Teagle, you laid it out perfectly. Agreed 100% on all points. Nothing to add, since those are the six reasons we might have a chance. Atma Bro might as well scrap his main board diary and spare us all another endless parade of variations on the theme of "because the Mavs suck and the Warriors rule"...

Thanks
I'm not saying the Warriors have a great chance of taking the series, but Dallas does have exploitable weaknesses that Avery can't completely mask.

This is where Nellie's value as a coach really comes to the surface.  He can recognize the weaknesses and is merciless in exploiting them.  Remember the game v. Phoenix a few weeks ago where they posted up whoever Nash guarded?  I can see Baron or any non-Monta guy on the floor posting Terry and/or Harris until they have to come off the floor.

As an aside, if Montgomery was still coaching this team, I'd be picking Dallas to win in 3. :)

"UNSTOPPABLE, BABY!"

Marc Jackson is gonna be in the house taunting the Mavericks' bench saying "I told you so!!"

haha
Just picturing him sitting courtside across the Mavs bench pointing and saying that cracks me up!  Remember how he would always have that weird scream whenever he dunked the ball?

I dont like to be a downer...
but I think we need to chill out about the warriors just destroying the mavs. I think we have a chance to win the series, dont get me wrong, but the mavs didn't win all those games for nothing. They have experience deep in the postseason as one unit and they are hungry.

I want the warriors to play great as much as anyone and I think we will def win at least 2 but, as a warrior fan since I could crawl, its hard for me to say we are gonna crush the mavs when I have seen so much disappointing basketball from the warriors in the past.

Lets just enjoy the ride

Booo!
Dallas Warrior! Boooo!

Naw, I understand where you're coming from. But really, I could care less if they beat the Mavs or not anymore. I'm just happy they're actually in a position where we can actually TALK about them possibly winning.

Why We Could Upset Dallas
Sorry to bring up this analogy, but here's a likely reason why we can upset Dallas in the playoffs: Remember the Superbowl in which the Raiders and Bucs face each other? It was Coach Jon Gruden vs. his offensive coordinator Bill Callahan. If the same trend goes during the Mavs-Warriors series, Don Nelson will exploit Avery Johnson's tendencies pretty well. Go Warriors! Let's pull for that upset! Remember, we're still the underdogs until we beat the Western Conference Champs!!!
