Draft picks

Today there was the ties where broken for the NBA Draft 2007.
This will give Golden State the 18th pick in the draft. Golden State also gets the 36 or 37 pick from minnesota. We where dam lucky they decided to tank the last games.
At last, we get the 46th pick from New Jersey.
Golden State's 2nd round pick(49th) will go to Chicago. So we get 3 picks. 1 first round and 2 second round. We all know that we need a solid power forward, but we get 3 picks, and 3 power forwards seem to much to me. At what other position, other then power forward, we need extra help? Or just draft 3 power forwards and keep the best?

Can Golden State trade a picked player, and if so, wich pick should they trade?

Teams can trade just about anything.
It really depends on what FA we will sign back, and nothing should be determined now but the drafting of Tiago Splitter. We've just gotta fill dem holes.

Splitter
I like him a lot, and I'd guess Nellie does too: long, athletic, likes to bang, and seasoned enough at age 22-23 to step in and contribute right away. Problem is he'll be long gone by #18, so we'd have to package something to move up to #10-12. And "something" means something someone might actually want, not a pile of stuff we don't need (POB, e.g.).

NBAdraft.net
has him going at #22. I think that since he's edged the draft the past 2 years, his pick has fallen. Not to mention this draft is packed.

But this dude is a Euroleague elite, and I think he'd be as good or better than Biedrins.

Really?
Jonathan Givony and the Draftexpress crew rave about him, and have him going to Atlanta at #11. They have us taking Rudy Fernandez (Euro SG who they compare to Kevin Martin) at #18. Bleh. I'd rather have Jeff Green.

One cool bit of news from this draft that this diary omitted: We finally beat the Lakers! Yup, after losing all four games to them this year, we beat them in the coin toss yesterday to grab the #18 pick and stick them with #19. Whoever we pick, I hope it's the guy LA was secretly lusting after...

i would trade
obryant and our pick to a team with a higher pick so we can acquire Yi Jianling.

Why stop there?
Throw in Foyle, Cabbages, and Azubuike and maybe we can move up to Oden!

Really
It's too bad the Pacers don't have a higher pick, who knows what we could have duped Larrd Bird and Donnie Walsh into this time?

Thanks again fellas ;)

pacers pick
someone correct me if im wrong, but the pacers are currently tied for 11th worst record with philly.  If they don't get a top 3 pick, they will get the 11th or 12th pick and will lose that pick to atlanta via the Al Harrington trade.

Well
we need a backup backup PG because Sarunas doesn't wanna be here.

ya
if in the 2nd round we can find a TRUE pg who's 6'4" or taller, i would really like to pick him up. it would allow monta to switch to the SG without having to worry about mismatches on the defensive side of the ball. poeple who could bang and fit well in our system are jianlin, splitter, thaddeus young (if he comes out), and theres a fe other names im forgtetting. hopefully one of the 3 mentioned falls to us
please dont hold me responsible for any comments i make...im stupid as hell

what about
Aaron Brooks in the 2nd round?  He could be a sleeper.  I think Brooks could definately create matchup problems with his quickness and athleticism, even though he obviously lacks size.  Not a true PG by any stretch, by an intruiging player.
RACK IT UP!!! We believed. Playoffs '07. One Dub!

But
He'd be awesome but he's a bit small for the NBA. Could be special though.

You'll be back.

YEA!
i expect him to go undrafted, then maybe he can play for our summer league team?

Thinking about their
roster lots of guy are under contract so its hard to imagine 3 rookies making the team. Even two seems unlikley

We can probably cut Zarko...
Whatever they do, don't trade the second round picks. Those are absolute GOLD for the Warriors. C'mon, Arenas AND Ellis, forget the first round we're going second.

You'll be back.
