Where's the Mav Trolls Now?
Just wondering what Loopy Hoopy and the other Mav trolls would have to say about the Mavs losing game #1 on their homecourt. Maybe downplay the importance of one measly game?
They didn't come back to say congratulations, good game, etc.? Just stunned silence, I guess.
All that talk about the Mavs preparing for a run to the Championship after last year and how the W's are just happy to make the playoffs, sounds like they and the rest of the NBA community thought this Round 1 series was a foregone conclusion.
This is a war baby, not for the faint of heart. No wimps allowed. The look on Cuban's face was priceless.
TNT expert commentators are basically all non-believers. Magic is useless, no original insights. Sir Charles must've bet on Dallas 'cause he still can't give credit where credit is due. Kenny is starting to believe but is afraid to take a stand. Only Reggie Miller gives props to the W's but he is in mourning 'cause his mother recently passed away. Our sympathy goes out to you, Reggie and Cheryl.
It reminds me of 1975, after the Warriors just finished off Chicago in the 7th game to win the Western Conference Championship, Oscar Robertson (who was commentating on TV and standing 8 feet from me) said the Washington Bullets would sweep the W's in 4 straight games. The Warriors swept the Bullets in 4 straight.
All non-believers will soon be forced to believe. All non-believers who have been talking smack must be busy eating crow.
You Gotta Believe! And You Gotta Love It!
Go Warriors!

Interesting
Props to you guys and Nellie, who completely psyched AJ out. Wes had an interesting stat on MMB today- AJ is 2-7 in the first game of playoff series. In the four previous losses, the Mavs are 3-1. History says he makes good adjustments. That was definitely that case last year against SAS, when the picture looked even bleaker after the first game.
It'll be interesting to see what adjustments get made for game 2. Will Damp play more than 2 minutes? Will Dirk do better than 4-12? Can Stackhouse do anything? The pick and roll isn't going to be there, obviously. So there's a couple things that I think the Mavs might do to adjust:
- Play Damp 24+ minutes (If he's healthy, and I don't think he is).
- Post up George and Harris.
- Play Dirk on the perimiter and give him the green light on 3's.
- Play more zone.
- Start Jerry Stackhouse to try and jumpstart him, moving Harris to the bench.
Will Damp play more than 2 minutes?
The odds are yes to all the above but the odds are also good that JRich, Pietrus, and Monta have a better game next time so it might be a wash?

sorry
Keys to mavs winning:
1. Dirk actually shows up.
fin
He only played 2 minutes
I'm of the opinion that he reaggrivated his shoulder, and that's why he didn't play more.
Where's the Mav Trolls Now?
If the mavs get it together and win a game they'll probably be back but do we care? Life is good, I'm heading to the beach.

going to the beach
its the best way to remind myself that it is a nice life to be a homer fan in the bay area. it would have made a nice sign for game 3; if we were facing 0-2.
