I can't help but give the conspiracy theorists something to chew on, cuz this is too good.  According to this questionable wiki, Bennett Salvatore was found guilty of both airline ticket fraud and tax evasion.  

Sounds like just the man for the Mafia to use to manage the point spread.  And "Salvatore"?  Clearly an Italian name -- Coincidence?

(...I'm Italian, I can make the accusation).

He was also part of protested officiating against the Mavs in last year's post season, so maybe this is a long, drawn out make-up call.

Or he could just be incompetent.
