Tonight's game was disappointing, but I think the Warriors are still well-positioned to win this series in 6. Here's why:
- We only got strong performances from Jax and Ellis and were still very competitive for 2 1/2 quarters.
- Dirk was made to look like an average player again. He made 7 field goals, and at least three of those were on putbacks or a scrambled offensive set. He didn't get much in Dallas' normal offense.
- Dampier and Diop were invisible - they combined for 4 points and 8 boards in 40 minutes.
- We were incredibly sloppy with the ball, yet still were within 10 points with around 6 minutes left. Any sort of decent game from the Warriors would have kept this game really tight down to the end.
I'm looking forward to the series coming to a town full of authentically exuberant basketball fans who don't need the PA guy to tell them when to cheer.
