"Thank You Warriors" - SF Chronicle

Hello fellow greatest fans on earth! :)

Anyway...the Warriors have done so much for us, the Bay Area, and so many other people this year. I'd been waiting since I was 2 years old to see them win a playoff game.  They deserve to be thanked.

Last year, J-Rich put out a full page "Advertisement" In the SF Chronicle apologizing to the fans.

Regardless of whether they lose a heartbraking game 7 to dallas, or sweep the Bulls in the NBA Finals, when this incredible season ends, the Warriors need to be thanked.  So I was thinking of putting out a full page "advertisement" in the SF Chronicle thanking the Warriors, once their season is over.

However, being only 17 I have very little money (still trying to pay off those GSoM night tix), but I just sent an email to the Chronicle asking how much it would cost.

My question is, if I were to arrange this, would people considering donating to the cause?  It would be just another piece of a remarkable season if everyone on GSoM came together and chipped in $5 so we could thank the Warriors for this year.

So, would people be willing to shell out a few bucks to thank Mullin, Nellie, Jason, Baron, et al?

thanks,
-Bradyk2

p.s. I'll let you know the figure when the chronicle writes back

Awesome...
glad to hear you approve.  Still awaiting a price figure, but will definately let you all know when I hear.  In the meantime I suppose I should design a thank you. :)

I'm assuming we should wait to post it until the season's over?

wonderful
Thanks everyone! I'm sure an ad is a lot of money, but hopefully the Chronicle will give me a discount, and if everyone comes together, it could become very affordable, hopefully :)

am i the only one
who doesn't necessarily like this idea? i mean we already pay a lot of money to come out and watch them, i would think the least they could do is play some decent basketball. i don't think we should have to thank them for that since it's their job

The best way to thank them: attend the games!
Honestly, if you really wanna show your appreciation for the team, you should buy a ticket and cheer them on in person.

I
would donate $5-10 bucks. Seriously though, we shouldnt be talking about the season ending yet. It's just starting.

I like
If nothing else it just shows the league why we are the best fans in the whole league.

Exactly! :)
If nothing else it just shows the league why we are the best fans in the whole league.

And if nothing else, shows our support for the team and motivates them to do extra well next season.

I was thinking some more about this
You know how much pub the guy got with the we believe signs? I can see something like that happening here. The person(s) that are behind a big thank you in the paper will probably get some support(and big support for the site) and I could possibly seeing someone on the Warriors or the Warriors office themselves trying to extend themselves to the person(s) involved with tickets or memorabilia(Sp?) meeting of the players and what not.

Now not saying all this just in hopes of getting something out of it. But I'm just saying that there is a good chance to get a return from such a move.
