Anybody post this? Monta Strained Back Muscle

I saw this morning but didn't have a chance to post it. The article talks about the struggles of Monta Ellis so far in the playoffs. But this paragraph really caught my eye.
In spite of the rough times, Ellis said his confidence hasn't dipped. He noted Wednesday that he strained a muscle in his back while reaching up to sign an autograph before Game 1, but sounded Thursday as if he is ready to make an impact.So how long does a strained muscle usually affect someone? How severe is it? Sort of reminds me of when Mark McGwire(How do you spell his name?) threw his back out while doing dishes.
