STOP IT WITH THE BANDWAGON THIS BANDWAGON THAT DIARIES

Why do you get so bothered by these "bandwagonners"? Does complaining about them give you more credibility as a "true Warriors" fan? I've been a Warriors fan all my life but I don't let these bandwagon fans affect me.

Obviously, you haven't been a long-time fan of any team! Because if you've been a true, long-time suffering Warriors fan like myself, you would expect these things to occur. It's part of sports people...you win unexpectedly, you're gonna get people to talk about your team even though it may seem like they're making things up. If your team loses, you're gonna get people talking about the loss. This is sports people. Deal with it.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

The insecure chest-thumpers full of misplaced pride are ten times more annoying than the "Bandwagoners."

Here's a little Newsflash: rooting for a sports team is not hard, and it doesn't make you special. Most of us root for the Ws simply because we like hoops and happen to live in the Bay Area. Nothing to be proud or ashamed of. People need to get over themselves and stop feeling so damn superior.

Everyone is free to be a fan in their own way, and at the time of their choosing. If you like the Warriors, you're a fan by definition. I'd be happy if I never saw the "B-word" again on this site.

AMEN!!!!!!!!
Who cares if there are banwagon people here. This is probably my 4th-5th post, just found out about GSoM and I love it. Just because I have just started posting, does that make me a less of a fan, no. If a team is in your heart you are a fan, no one else can tell you different, so quit worrying abou how the crowd cost us the loss on Sunday night, it was the boys on the floor, Utah played a better game, they won, are we done, not by a long shot, we still have tomorrow night.

i disagree
Let everyone be a fan in their own way, sure.  Glad to have the warriors be relevant again.  Let GSOM accept all fans no matter where they come from.

But, come on now, dont get too carried away. For years you've put blood sweat emotion into one team while everyone else whorode you cuz u were a warriors fan.  Now, those same people are referring to the team as "we" make ridiculous comments that show they have no idea what they are talking about, and act like they are DUBS FOR LIFE.

people are free to do what they want but that kind of bothers me

The Bandwagon
I don't mind bandwagon fans.  They will always exist.  There are people that will always cheer for whoever is winning, but the real fans know who they are.

My thing is this- go ahead and jump on the bandwagon, but don't act like you know about stuff that you don't know anything about.  For example, if a bandwagon fan tells me that "the trade" made the difference for the W's this year (because they heard this on TNT) and I say that I think Josh Powell is a decent player, don't act like you know what I'm talking about when you don't.  =)

You know what this is sounding like?
repping a gang. Come on, I mean wtf do you mean by "true fans"? A fan is a fan is a fan is a fan! If anything, I can boast about being a "true and hardcore fan" since the 1981 season, when we suffered with Lewis Lloyd, Chris Engler, Joe Hassett, Tellis Frank, Otis Smith, Winston Garland, TMC, Dell Demps, and so on. But I'm not going there cuz it's ridiculous. It's ridiculous to say I know more and bled more as a fan so therefore, I am a "true" fan! People, relax! There will be "fans" coming our way...let them be. Besides, we don't play the game, our Ws do!

i don't mind...
...bandwagoners.  The more the merrier right?  But i expect one thing, and one thing only when someone jumps on along for the ride... that they effin cheer for team!  If you're gonna be on the bandwagon and buy up all the tickets and inflate the prices so i can't go anymore... then don't be the person that tells me to sit down, don't be the person who sits idle just watching the game silently saying, "i thought the warriors were good", don't be the person expecting the warriors to win just because they're home and you're in the building... these are the worst kind of fans... or should i say, "fans"... i know the players feed off the energy at the arena and the fans feed off plays on the court... but if the team is not making plays, the crowd can at least get some cheers started to provide some energy and not LET THEMSELVES BE TAKEN OUT OF THE GAME... at least a real fan wouldn't...
... it is what it is.

a famous quote
says "imitation is the greatest form of flattery".  It will be great if no one falls off the proverbial wagon regardless of what happens with the Dubs from here on out.
