Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

Random thought: Al Jefferson and Leon Powe

Hey guys, for those of you who love and know more about the nitty gritty details of player salaries and such, I'm just dangling an albeit "random" trade speculation that would bring more inside presence to the Dubs while helping the other team as well.

Maybe it's too far-fetched, but how about something like pairing up JRich and Foyle to the Celtics for Al Jefferson and Oakland homeboy Leon Powe?  Like I've posted before, it'll get more interesting after the draft order, but Boston has quite a good shot at the top 3 picks.  Alright...I'll give it a rest for now y'all...GO DUBS!!!

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

the celtics
wouldn't want foyle and jrich is not good enough to make them want to take it. Plus, Al Jefferson has been playing like an all star and Leon Powe has potential. I wouldn't mind this trade happening, but  the celtics would never do this trade.

Only if they throw in
Paul Pierce and Greg Oden.

Did you not read ALX's "ground rules" for babbling about trades? Just because you say a deal "helps the other team" doesn't make it so. The Celtics already have a better version of JRich in Pierce; Jefferson is a 6'10" 22-year-old possible NBA superstar; and ... nobody is trading for Adonal Foyle.

Can you guys really not control yourselves? I know I should I just ignore it, but I have friends who are Celtics fans and you're basically insulting them. How would you feel if you read a proposed deal of Delonte West, Wally Sczerbiak, and Theo Ratliff for Baron and Biedrins?

MWHAHAHAHAAHAH!!!!!!
With his past behind him, Adonal looks toward the future, wherever it may be....

I hear ya....
just had to get that one out of my system...but yeah, I did read that other "guideline".

Take it easy...it's all good.  It wasn't meant in no disrespect to the Celts either.  Peace.

Sorry for the cranky tone
I know it's fun to fantasize, especially after the pain of that Utah series. I just think it's more fun to fantasize about stuff that might actually happen.
  • Darko Milicic = that fairly hot babe at the other end of the bar who keeps looking over at you
  • Chris Bosh/Dwight Howard/Amare Stoudemire/Al Jefferson = Jessica Alba

LOL
nice analogy, sleepy freud...any way, I wouldn't want to make this trade. We all know that Nellie does not like chunky players. If we get someone who can rebound and post up, it needs to be a boozer, KG  etc. type of player...

no bears, more bruins
The answer is obviously to get Baron and Barnes some more former Bruins to play with. We should pick up Ariza and Gadzuric and take Afflalo with our first round pick. Maybe deal for Earl too, to give Baron a solid backup PG. Ced Bozeman and Dijon Thompson tore up the NBDL this year and will probably be ready to come off the bench and contribute. Clearly, I'm not biased towards former Bruins.

I definitely don't want Powe though. He was great in college, but 6-8 unathletic PF's aren't quite what our system needs. And there's no way the C's are giving up Jefferson, especially for JRich and Foyle. They'd probably give us Theo and Wally though, but we'd have to throw in MP2 to make the salaries work. No gracias.

find me
a tyrus thomas clone, long super atheletic, cleans the glass at both ends and can block shots. i'm loving watching this kid play in chicago. if we can find someone like him in the draft woooohooooo that would solve alot of problems without having to break up the core thats here. also i feel like they will let mp2 walk, gotta do something with foyle, barnes i could take him or leave him, and i would like to get buke more minutes to see what he can do.

we thought nobody would take
the dunmurphy sisters either, but look how that turned out. you never know what mullin will be offered for adonal. he can play defense better than several centers i can think of(even a couple playoff centers) and he is a vet with only 2 years left on his contract. even if he is overpriced, it is not like he is the highest paid player in the league and cap space is cap space.

JUST A REMINDER
That if the CELTICS wouldn't give up JEFFERSON for IVERSON, then they definitely wouldn't give him up for JRICH!

Sorry, but that's just the honest truth!

yea
as much as Jefferson would be a beast in blue and gold, its just not happening. hmmm...long, athletic bigs...they are definitely in sparse quantities. I'd love it if the warriors got Okafor though. seems like the bobcats can get another young stud big in the draft, and they do need wing help. Still far fetched, but would definitely help the team down the road.

The simple fact is...
we picked the wrong year to be good. The missing link on our team is clearly Kevin Durant. rebounds, defends, blocks shots, scores, great in transition....Tyrus thomas on steroids.
