Rashard Lewis

I think the best option for the warriors is to get Rashard Lewis. This guy is raw, averaging 23 points per game and 7 rebounds this season. This guy is also 6-10 which is perfect with nellie ball with all the mismatches he can create. I think he can play from 3 and replace jacksons spot because this guy is clearly better. if we can aquire him this offseason, it would be so much better. we can maybe package a deal with the sonics with sign and trades with Lewis and MP2 and add Jackson or like cabbages.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

We don't need scoring, and he's gonna demand shots. If you ask me, we got a decent enough version of Rashard Lewis in Al Harrington. One tweener is enough for me. Just get me a RAW POWER 4 and i'll be solid.

Yeah
He is going to demand the ball as much as Jackson wanted it in the playoffs. Trust me ITs just another mismatch and we would have the advantage. Ive seen him play alot and it really makes me thinking that he would be very very good in this system
We are the LOUDEST crowd in the NBA..

wtf?
Trust you? Why? What credentials do you have?

Trust me is not a sufficient argument. We don't need him.

Awesome.

like Rasheed?

then we got two guys from the Palace brawl a couple'a years ago on the same squad!

Fellas, lets be realistic
We need a guy thas athletic, big, and is a good rebounder and can play defense. Tyson Chandler and Nene fit the mold, but simply stated, those guys aren't realistically available for us. One option is a sign-and-trade with Pietrus for Kenyon Martin. If not martin, same deal, through in cabbages, and get the human nut-wrencher Reggie Evans. He is the perfect player for our system, very physical, can grab boards like he's possessed (remember D. Fortson, more motivated, better ability to put the ball back up). Look for real trades or free agent pickups from teams with size and big men.

martin is a max
player so there is no way

Just a thought...
Think Mully isnt rethinking picking that center from Russia in the 2nd round instead of gambling on Leon Powe, OR Paul Millsap, who led NCAAs in rebounding THREE YEARS IN A ROW??? Not 1st guessing, i questioned it last june...just wasnt a GSOM'r yet. Gimme thoughts fellow warriors

I mean we couldnt have traded fisher for millsap, instead of the 3 guards we traded for that never hada chance here? did nobody do any homework on this guy from college?

c'mon now
alot of teams passed up on Millsap. Give Mullie some credit, he got Monta in the 2nd round

i like the kmart idea
that way they can dump jr smith and get pietrus..because pietrus can actually play defenese and rebound

by djchuckdeez on May 16, 2007 8:40 PM PDT reply actions

hell yea
Lewis is the key! 6'10 man who can pop a three and take it to the hole. perfect. KMART sucks because hes always injured.

im still thinking...
leon powe might be kinda nice. its too bad we didnt have ike diagu to guard boozer, that woulda be handy.

He certainly could
for about 6 minutes until he fouled out. Incredible foul/minute rate.

among all the
big name big men, i haven't seen anyone mention tyson chandler, emeka okafor, or even elton brand. Maybe elton brand would want a trade after missing the playoffs. who knows?

realistically though,
we could go for one of the piston's big men on the bench such as antonio mcdyess or nazr mohammed. mohammed has seen very limited playing time on the pistons, but he used to be a good role player on the championship spurs team. he could help us in rebounding, defense, and championship experience.

about the big men
it's easy to name off a bunch of big men in the league that would be "PERFECT" for our team.  but the fact of the matter is the teams that have these young, athletic, potential superstars are in no hurry to trade them for players like pietrus and jrich.  the Lakers wouldn't even let go of no-show Andrew Bynum to get hall-of-famer Jason Kidd.  Size is a valuable commodity in this league

IMO
A player like Al Horford from Florida is the type i like to fill our needs.  Strong, good rebounder, good hands, and a runner.

too bad...
he'll be gone in the top 5 picks

Rashard Lewis
is a rich man's Al Harrington and a couple of inches taller.  This guy's getting paid a lot of money for being the 2nd option in Seattle.  He's also a natural small forward, which we don't need.  Not a great defender and although he gets some rebounds, it doesn't mean he's a GOOD rebounder. IMO, Lewis wouldn't want to come here and Mullin shouldn't have a reason to go after him after chasing Harrington for the past few years.

by MVP @ Golden State Of Mind on May 17, 2007 12:55 AM PDT reply actions

Okafor would be nice....Brand....um...
if I were the Clips, I would not want to do any sort of deal within my own division. That'd be suicide....Same with the Lakers, tho I really don't see anyone I'd like from that team anyways that they'd be willing to give up.  They seem to love Bynum for his size more than for his skills, but he looks like he still needs a couple of years to get up to his potential.

by warriorsfan4life on May 17, 2007 10:09 AM PDT reply actions

Rashard Lewis might not be the player that best
fits our needs, but any time you get a player of that talent (assuming we don't overpay), it can only be a good thing. We then have the freedom to trade other players.

I'm not sure why people think we have the salary cap room to sign him though. He's the third best free agent after Billups and Carter.

Rashard
reminds me of a faster, more aggressive, black version of troy murphy.
