Please Explain...

Ah

Star-divide

Homecourt, BS reffing at its finest. Once again, the referees decide the game for us. I do realize it is our fault for blowing the lead, not grabbing rebounds, not playing defense, not hitting shots, but the refs played parts in this too.

Tell me how Jason Terry is going to throw Baron Davis to the ground in a dead play, and get one technical? Why is it that Stephen Jackson claps at the crowd, as to say 'good game' even though it was some sarcasm, and immediately gets thrown out? The game was obviously decided, with about 8 seconds left. Biased much?

Tell me how Jason Richardson will go for the corner 3, get slapped in the wrist by Dirk, and not be sent to the line? Why is it that Devin Harris will get to the line for And 1's repeatly, even though while Baron Davis was defending, obviously backed off to avoid the foul?

Refs, step your game up. Please. This is NBA playoff basketball. We don't need to hear a whistle for Dallas so often, and please send us to the line when we're suppose to go.

Warriors, let's step it up in game 6 and just let it all go. We Believe. Finals. Yes.

I know what you mean
I had to go outside and dribble the ball to let go some steam.  While I was dribbling I was thinking the samething.  Theres nothing we can do now.  Whoever goes to the game represent us to the finest.  GO WARRIORS!!! WE BELIEVE!!!!

no one knows
i personally thought the game was pretty well officiated until the last 30 seconds. then the j-rich no call, the baron foul, and the very quick jax ejection all brought it crashing down. but the refs didn't cost us the game. the dubs couldn't hit a shot the last couple of minutes and nowitzki (finally) stepped up

Yeah,
I have to admit and give credit where it's due. Dirk came through with those 2 3's. But nonetheless, the whole ending sequence was horribly officiated in my opinion.

yeah
If Jackson was out there to guard him I really don't see him hitting those. Or even having the opportunity.

Playoffs in '07, baby! *It Happened.*

Isn't it funny
that Nellie made it a point in his post game interview to say that, "the game was officiated well"
rubbadubdub thanx for the playoffs!!!

this is how i see it
the Ts on Jax were so bad that even charles had to defend a W!

and the last 30 seconds were just atrociously called.

if jason terry isn't suspended, that's when we call fix, I think...

Blatant Misses
I don't like to complain about the officiating.  The Warriors had a great chance to finish it in Dallas, and I don't think the refs cost us the game.  But they made it slightly harder.

Two obvious missed calls stand out to me:

  1. Josh Howard's offensive goaltending
  2. Stackhouse's blatant travel
Let's hope Game 6 is officated fairly.  No home cooking, no favorable calls for the Warriors.  Just call the actual fouls.  And don't toss guys for clapping.
Still annoyed that we drafted Tod Fuller

Argeed!
Josh Howard's offensive goaltend was ridiculous. So obvious, too. Matt Barnes' eyes just grew into plates after that no call. Didn't see Stackhouse's travel though.

by mistererickk on May 1, 2007 10:28 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

stackhouses travel
i deffinetly saw that. I have no idea what the refs were thinkin. i feel cheated. homecourt shouldnt have such a big impack on the refs

Yo
Stop compaining about the officiating, your starting to sound like Cuban. Down 9 with a couple minutes left, Dirk showed up for the first time this series with 8 points and one key block down the stretch. There's a reason they're 67-15. They fed off their crowd and now they are going to have to deal with the Oracle.

by ThunderSesh on May 1, 2007 10:30 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

True.
Still doesn't explain why we didn't score for 3:15 in the fourth. Drive to the hole. 2 more points in that time more then likely wins us the game. Sure there were some miss calls but the mav's forced the ref's to make those calls... warriors didn't. They all settled for perimeter shots, with exception to Barnes blocked shot. Warriors just sat and looked at Baron. Much like they did early in the 2nd quarter. When BD went to the bench warriors went on a little run because the rest of the team didn't just stop and stare at BD.

by Kleenex on May 1, 2007 10:31 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

too many calls
in general that went the Mavs way in the last 4 mins. (Barnes blocks Dirk - foul on Pietrus?)10 FT attempts to 0 in the last three minutes. Bottom line is that when they doubled Baron he gave it up and then never touched the ball again during the offensive sequence. Just too hard for others to try and make plays down the stretch and milk the clock. Baron must demand the ball next time!!!!!!

by triplesix on May 1, 2007 10:32 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

not to mention
secure the rebound when your down two and less than a minute to play. DAMN!!!!!

by triplesix on May 1, 2007 10:35 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

i didn't like
the chuck into bean's back either. that was a play on the ball, they say.

by justin on May 1, 2007 10:52 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

yeah...
All Howard did was shove Biedrins in the back!  WTF is the play on the ball?  Should've been a flagrant.

by yuletak on May 1, 2007 11:26 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

it's all good
they played for there lives tonight, while i'm sure they are glad they won, you gotta know they were like damm!!! up 20 at home and we still almost lost what do we gotta do? now we gotta go back to oakland. nice game by dirk finally stepping up, i don't think it's gonna be as comfortable for them at the oracle on thursday!!!!!
GO WARRIORS!!!!

YES
i totally agree with you. i was so pissed when they dropped baron to the ground and gave a technical. c'mon now! are you freakin' serious?!?!?!
then jackson gets ejected for clapping! i was so mad, i really had nothing else to say...

dick bavetta
when is DB gonna ref a game for the dubs?
i just renewed my belief in the Warriors! So much that i'm a season ticket holder for next year! GO WARRIORS!!

by kevinBELIEVES on May 1, 2007 10:55 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

just my personal opinion
the refs were bias throughout the game plenty of fouls with no calls or even late reaction....Some other tidbits like
  1. One of the mavs put in his hand right into the cylinder of the basket and it was clearly shown on the replay which should have not counted
  2. BD's ghost foul at the end
  3.  Jrich's got fouled at the end by Dirk on that three
....But it was also the GSW fault at the end for not driving into the basket while 9 pts ahead and attempting 3 pointers when it wasnt needed... The game was really intense I LOVED IT it was a good game..The calls were in favor for the mavs hopefully it is more fair for GAME 6..

GO Warriors ^^

by Khamz on May 1, 2007 11:24 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I agree
How can you call a foul on a player trying to play defense?! You can't laugh anymore or clap and barely touching the offensive player's back is not allowed...LOL. Come on, Cuban, your money is not good anywhere. You're not the Godfather. Other than bad calls, we had bad shot selection. Jason should have swung the ball around or held it and take it to the rim.

by Phil T28 on May 2, 2007 12:54 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

look on the bright side
the dubs didn't have the calls go thier way this game and they only lost by 6...alot of the calls like the offensive interference and the traveling no calls happened before the warriors comeback rally...they could have easliy given up but they didn't and rallied back to take a 9 point lead...thursday will be the same effort only the Dubs are at home...
rubbadubdub thanx for the playoffs!!!

You guys are funny!
Why are most people on this diary upset at the refs? It's not like the ref's anti-Warrior officiating is not common. Although I'd hate to admit it, but we have to get used to refs hating on the Warriors. It's been like this since day 1 (which for me was the 1981 season). It's like the Warriors playing against their opponent AND the refs. We'll have to deal with it I guess!
