Fellas - For months, I've been harping that Yi will not be available for the Warriors when they pick at 18. Well, that is changing. Yi's having phenomenal workouts in LA with Noah and Brewer, but China is going to be very strict with where they let him play. If you remember when Yao was drafted, China gave Houston a hard time before granting the Rockets permission to draft him. With a Chinese prospect, you have to have the blessings of China because they may not release the player to the NBA unless they want to. China would want Yi to come and play now, so he can't be sitting on the bench and he has to be in a market that the country feels is worthy of his services. Now, I don't have the slightest clue what China wants, but when you look at the possibilities, the Bay Area and the Warriors are literally a perfect fit. He'd get PT and would succeed in Nellie's system (although, I think we all would like him to be able to board) and from a marketing standpoint, the Bay Area will embrace anyone, let alone a Chinese stud with such a stunning hairstyle. Teams ahead of the Warriors that fit the situation China may be looking for are: the Clippers, Chicago, Seattle, and New Jersey. Seattle would give him a lot of PT, and I'm not sure the Clippers strict system has space for him with Maggette and Tim Thomas already on the roster. Chicago would rather get a low-post scorer, which Yi is not. New Jersey needs bigs, period. Let's all hope China makes Yi VERY difficult to obtain and he falls into Dubs' lap at 18!
