Best intro for sports ever!

so i was watching conan and he was talking about how his own network NBC sucks now and it made me think of the good ole days when NBC was the bomb and nothing expressed it more than that freaking nba on nbc theme

http://youtube.com/watch?v=UooitEU6AtE

dam its sad all i get to listen is pussycat dolls sigining right now than right after a werid beat that seemes like its from the 70's? tnt music is alright esp now they are using remember the name, but just curious were you guys place that nba on nbc song compared to all the other ones. like nfl on fox. mnf theme,

ahh all this stuff is just making me think how we are now back to being good and we could be worthy of a nbc game and have that aweseome theme song!

Star-divide

oh yeah this one is for the old timers its the CBS SONG! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEOCL67ljzQ

Its Faaaaaannnnnntastic!
Man those old CBS days in the 80's were sick-that was the begining of my NBA addiction.  Bird, Magic, Dr. J, Jordan and our own Mully.  Then the next generation came and it was the NBA on NBC.  Also sick, that music brings back memories of Shaq/Penny, Jordan/Pippen, Stockton/Malone, Payton/Kemp, Hakeem/Drexler.  Man, the good ole days, now its all fluff with Sprite LeBron commercials that you have to be on LSD or Extasy to understand.  Good archive work...

changing sports
the early 80s with the 49ers were my good ol days. I remember the CBS opening tune...I also like Fox's, which they also use for the MLB.

THE NBA ON NBA TUNE
AKA "Roundball Rock" was the rrockingest tune of all time! It totally owns whatever the "dolls" put out.

And I'm really fing tired of hearing the DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DO DO DO DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO theme also. It's bland mixed in a Blander (not blender, BLANDer....get it?)

Anyway, one of my favourite songs of all time. ESPN/ABCS contract expires after next year, and I really hope coverage goes to NBC/TNT/NBATV. NBC was in general all-around more dedicated. ABC will panic if ANY game vuts into their "prime-time" lineup. However, David Stern is dead set on renewing the surrent contract, even with constantly declining and all-time low ratings.

TNT is aiite, and what I enjoy watching most nowadays. ESPN is a copy of ABC, horrible. IT was aiite last year.

However, if it does stay the same, I'll always have the reassurance of FSN BAY AREA!!!! Their theme song never gets old, either.

With his past behind him, Adonal looks toward the future, wherever it may be....

Beginning of an NBA fan
Watching the Jordan Bulls, rooting against who else but the Utah Jazz, good memories.

And if you haven't seen it before, "It's A Wonderful Life" meets the NBA on NBC theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7DN0CCsqLk

We forgot who wrote it...
John Tesh baby!  The former Entertainment Tonight host wrote the famous NBA on NBC song-gotta love "The Teshinator"  Also, Conan O'Brian loves the guy too.  Na na na na na na!  YES!!!

Even older than that
I remember an even older CBS song, one with sung lyrics that were something like this...

You see the best in bas-ket-ball
When you watch the NBA
N-B-A on C-B-S (on CBS!)

I guess that must have been the 70s.
