Since it's trade-talk season, I'll participate...

So, here's another idiot trade idea...sorry Sleepy but I gotta share this...

GS/LAL trade in a nutshell:
GS gets Turiaf and Radmanovic for St. Jax (and probably the 18th pick)

Los Angeles Lakers

Incoming Players
Stephen Jackson
Salary: $6,120,000  Years Remaining: 4
PTS: 15.5  REB: 3.0  AST: 3.8  PER: 14.50
Outgoing Players: Vladimir Radmanovic, Ronny Turiaf

Golden State Warriors

Incoming Players
Vladimir Radmanovic
Salary: $5,215,000  Years Remaining: 5
PTS: 6.6  REB: 3.3  AST: 1.2  PER: 11.02

Ronny Turiaf
Salary: $664,209  Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 5.3  REB: 3.6  AST: 0.9  PER: 15.54
Outgoing Players: Stephen Jackson

Why? The Lakers have a surplus of bigs (8 to be exact), and not much swingmen (Evans, McKie, Sasha V) to help Kobe on the offense. If needed, we can throw in the 18th pick. The main reason for the trade is to get the tuff SOB in Turiaf. As we remember too well this past season, he was the Energizer bunny for the Lakers. It seemed like Nellie didn't know what to do about him whenever the camera focused on him. I added VR to make the trade work financially but he may also be serviceable. For GS, we get rebounding help and still keep our main scorers.

I'm not a big fan of doing a big-time trade (KG) as this will cost us our future...who's to say KG will re-sign with us once his contract expires or if he opts-out? I've waited patiently for a decent Warriors team for so long now. To break up the main pieces will be Richmond and CWebb all over again. People, we have to realize we're only a big man or 2 away from getting to the finals. I strongly believe this. In fact, if we had Milsap subbing in for AB, we probably may have won the Utah series. We can't win close games without someone to patrol the glass.

But I think the best scenario would be to have Al continue playing along side with AB but he really needs to improve on rebounding.

Is it October yet?

Would the Lakers give up already
in their bench brigade leader Turiaf drafted only a couple years back? This guy wears some of Kobe's shoes sometimes, complete with #24 on them.

Phil and Stephen team up, someone is going to sing Sorry Ms. Jackson (WOO)!

That would be great for Jax to team up with another Final winning coach but everytime he'd post up or iso Kobe would be screaming for the ball! He's not the Jason Kidd kind of distributor they wanted in the past and need now that their playoffs included Shamond Williams at the point over Smush and Farmar.

Also are they that disgusted with Vlad-Rad for his off court (goofy and not gangsta) follies where he nearly breaches his contract to give up on Turiaf just to unload him?

Good trade proposal M's-BOLs, if only because its involving two teams and only 3 players and not outlandish everybody for KG deals that have a lesser chance of being possible.

Turiaf
Is a good player.  I've been watching the Lakers alot cuz I'm in LA, he's alot better than his stats indicate.  He brings that kind of energy and toughness that's rare in this league.  Everytime they make a good play he's always doing his little Ronny dance off the bench and it cracks me up, and he's just a big lover of the game of basketball and a good teammate; he once said in a post-game interview that "Lamar Odom is the best basketball player in the world." LOL

S-Jax has zero trade value
Look at how much money he's making...with 3 years left. Given his legal troubles coming up this summer (trial for firing his gun) and past history of being a malcontent,  he isn't gonna be in high demand.

To top it off, he's not a very efficient player, traditionally being a sloppy ball handler and inconsistent shooter (which we saw).

There's only one team in the league that would take him:
San Antonio

They don't have monetary problems, they can send us expiring contracts, and Popovich has coached him before...and won a ring.

For everyone else, it's an easy pass.

earth to manute bol
nobody wants jackson.  not even a little bit.  the T's and the antics he displayed in the playoffs made his trade value decline even more.
