Can somebody explain to me why Atlanta would trade away the draft rights to Mike Conley Jr. Speedy Claxton and Lorenzen Wright for a mediocre point guard (Jarret Jack), and a guy who plays the same position as Josh Smith (Zach Randolph)? Last I checked Atlanta desperately needed a point guard and Mike Conley fits the bill.
If I'm the Warriors I at least call Atlanta and offer Monta, POB or Pietrus and a first rounder. Monta isn't the pure point that the Hawks covet, but he's certainly a better talent than Jarret Jack. POB makes more sense in Atlanta than Randolph does. Maybe I've misread the fine print here, but I just don't understand this deal. I don't see the Hawks parting with the #3 pick unless someone offers them a better point guard than Mike Conley Jr.

Let's start with The Scoop: According to the L.A. Times this morning, the Portland Trail Blazers will offer Zach Randolph and Jarrett Jack for Atlanta's #3 pick next month and whatever else would be needed to match salaries. So that's that.
