PLAYOFF RECAP Prequel: Warriors Beat the Mavs 4-2!!

The world was shocked tonight, but we weren't! It was becoming increasingly popular to diss the Warriors, their loyal and passionate fans, the Bay Area, and GSoM, but who cares?

We got this W and that's ALL that matters.

I don't want to hear about how Dirk choked in the playoffs. I want to hear about the great defense from Stephen Jackson and the rest of the Dubs that we all nowitnessed in this series.

I don't want to hear about how Avery Johnson coached poorly against his mentor. I want to hear about the marvelous job that Nellie has done this whole season and how he tortured his former team.

I don't want to hear about how the Mavericks collapsed in the 1st round of the NBA Playoffs. I want to hear about how the Warriors OWN the Mavs and pulled off the greatest upset the NBA has ever nowitnessed.

I don't want to hear about how soft the Mavs' fans are. I want to hear about how Warrior fans are the best in the entire league.

I don't want to hear about how the Mavs are a team without heart. I want to hear about about how the Warriors are a TEAM.

I don't want to hear about the Mavericks' nightmare. I want to hear about the Warriors' dream.

Yeah, THAT'S what everyone should be talking about.

Here's a sampling of the headlines from the web to keep you going until Hash drops a monumental recap:

Speaking of moving on, I'm just happy we don't have to talk about the Mavs,
their lukewarm fanbase, or their b-rate local sports media anymore.

Don't tell the misses...
I couldn't cry when I proposed to my fiancee, but that BoomRich video brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it. Does that make me a bad person?

Got my bachelor party tomorrow in Vegas. Not sure what I'm going to be celebrating more...

Funny how people said
that there were "excessive celebrations after the game."  If you truly believe that there we celebrated too much, then you should wait 13 years to get into the playoffs yourself, nevermind getting past the first round. Ya' dumb P.O.S.!  Thank god tomorrow is Friday, gonna do some hardcore celebrating, and catch some Spider-man 3 as well!  At this point, they've exceeded my expectations.

I don't often cross sports lines here, or state border lines, but that was incredible. I grew up in Northern California so I know what this all means to y'all. Congratulations. That just kicked ass.

What an amazing game.  Strong start by the W's -  Baron gets hurt - Stackhouse is on fire - Baron's a sieve on defense - Baron can still shoot - Baron somehow regains mobility - Jax "doesn't care in the very best sense" - W's are unstoppable, baby - Celebration.

This Elias observation that stedanko pointed out is terrific.

The Dallas-Golden State series was the 20th in NBA playoffs history in which one team had at least 25 more wins than the other in the regular season. Not only are the Warriors the first underdog to win such a series, but the previous 19 teams combined to win only six games, and none of those teams won more than one game in the series.

Can't wait for the Blog Maverick reaction!
