The only rule of nicknaming is

that the nickname is different from his actual name. You could have said "The Tricycle" which is a crappy nickname and it makes no sense, but it is still, technically, a nickname. "Jackson" can not a be nickname for "Jackson".
You managed to break the only rule of nicknaming.

 Jax, always have.  Thank god hes a Warrior now though.  Dunleavy and Murphy couldnt combine for more heart in 7 than he does in one.  GO Dubs.
