Trading Players?

Everybody's talking about trading players, and let's be real now. There are some players that have a higher possibility of being traded than others.

Baron and Monta - Can anybody see these two being traded when it's Don Nelson that's coaching the Warriors? Cause these two fit very well in this type of play.

J-Rich - Okay, here's the part that sucks. We all love J-Rich. How can we not? Two times dunk champ, baby! But it's possible that he might get traded cause he hasn't been playing all that well, and everybody knows its the surgery and injury and everything. But the Stephen Jackson club fight factor reduces the chance of J-Rich being traded.

Stephen Jackson - I doubt anybody will want to make a trade for him until he's all cleared up with the club fight incident, and straightened out everything. Same with Ron Artest. By the way, did anybody buy his album? I downloaded it off of limewire. I have to admit, it's better than Paris Hilton's album.

Al Harington - It's possible. It's possible that if J-Rich is going to be traded, he's also going to be part of the deal. But it's not like he is a horrible player that costs the game.

Andris Biedrins - He's a part of Warriors future along with Monta. Unless we're getting Amare Stoudemire or Dwight Howard, I don't want to see Andris go.

Adonal Foyle - Abso-freaking-lutely ZERO percent. Most of us want him out of the Warriors. But think about how many teams want Adonal. You might as well just clap after he's done reading a story to children at your local library.

#33 - I can't spell his name right. Forgive me. He has a good chance of being traded to a team that fits his style of play better. We all know that he can shoot, but he doesnt have the speed and quickness to play the up tempo game the Warriors play. In my mind, he would average double figures for a team that play half court offense, and where he is not a third string point guard.

Pietrus/Barnes/Azuibuike - Just sign and keep them.

Patrick O'Bryant/Josh Powell - I would love to see them play more, and I doubt that teams would really want them at the moment.

Just call him Sarunas
or Nellie's coined name, "cabbages."

It's really a toss up since Don Nelson had a 7 man rotation. Just like Phoenix.

Pietrus can go if we get someone back(free agency/sign trade after draft/draft a swingman) who can still play perimeter defense when Jax and Baron aren't out there. He's not a 4 by any means. Not much of a 3 either since his shot selection wasn't there all year. His mistakes were magnified in the playoffs and everyone went Anderson Verejao level of hate on him as such. A really streaky shooter, turnover prone, au revoir monsieur!

all of that analysis is worth less
Because it ignores the financial aspect of the NBA

things i respect:
Well-thought out diaries that contribute to the understanding of basketball fans

Things I do not respect:
A re-hashing of what everyone knows and forgetting to talk about the most important aspect of an NBA deal.

This was, after all, titled "trading players", and you can't trade a player without making the money work.

and so is yours!
which makes everything in this diairy, including the responses, worthless!

Seriously, an opinion that's educated, thoughtout, and useful- those you keep.

A random opinion by someone that doesn't know shit? Chuck 'em.

This poster has the right to post, but I equally have the right to point out why his post is worthless. You're really just being a dick, because you've done nothing to actually address his post or what I said about it.

This it the internet- not the place where you go to be nice to each other, but a place to get information.

In all fairness
the other diary not 5 down is called  Salary Cap

Rehashing the salaries again here (as we've seen all season) in regards to trading is another repeat of what you already know then too.

I understand telling a guy who's diary is 100% Bulls or Grizzlies or whatever and 0% to do with the Warriors that its not necessary, but this one is fine.

You already know, go back to the other dozens of diaries on KG/Marion/Splitter/Fernandez/Young or Young/Foyle for Mayor of Oaktown diaries then.

-

Fantasy)Hash)Atma)Dj-Fuzlogik)YaoButta, there's a thing in the options called recommended diaries, how does that work?

Can people get their diaries nominated to be in a short list and later be moved out when they're not timely anymore? Something so we can still see on the column of diaries at the top with like a break between the regular diaries and can go back to to post in regardless of where they go in order?

I know its more work but is it a feasible formatting plan if you guys do get some time to spruce up this site?

I don't know about the database here or anything but I wanted to know what's up with the "recommended diaries" thing.

Actually...
I dont mind that this diary doesnt mention salaries.  Sure it's an an important part of trading players, but i can acknowlege that there are some people on this board that are more savvy about the financial aspects of player movement than others.  If someone just wants to post about what players that he/she would or wouldn't want to get traded, then why isn't that ok?

I admit that i'm one of those on here that isn't that good at spitting out info on salaries and contract lengths and collective bargaining rules and salary cap stuff.  I'd hate to go do all the research on the viability on each and every trade that that i think up on a whim.

Some of you guys like to do that stuff and i admire you guys for that.  Hey, it even makes you look more knowlegable than the rest of us and i'm fine with that.  But if someone just wants to say "hey i wouldn't trade Baron or Monta" i wouldn't call that person's opinion worthless.

Nobody is gonna nominate anyone's diary on here for a Pulitzer so why not just ignore the stuff that doesn't stimulate your basketball intellect and give others a chance to try to be part of this website too.
